Big Brother season 26 host Julie Chen Moonves recently talked about the events that happened in the latest episode. One of the topics discussed was T'Kor nominating her alliance member, Tucker, which led to his eviction. She sat down with Entertainment Weekly on August 30 and expressed her opinion on the houseguests' dynamics.
She said that even though Tucker volunteered to be a pawn, an act which had a good history in BB house, his elimination was partly T'Kor's fault.
"T’kor plays a big role. She nominated the strongest competitor in her alliance. She lost a number and a comp beast who would have fought for her, and she seemed to do all that because she didn’t want to get blood on her hands," Julie stated.
For the unversed, Big Brother season 26 released episode 21 on August 29, 2024, on CBS. In the episode, Tucker Des Lauriers got eliminated due to faltering alliances as T’Kor had nominated him, Angela, and Makensy.
T'Kor became this week's HoH (Head of Household) and initially took only Tucker's name as she wanted to use the latter as a pawn to eliminate Makensy. He was surprised by his name being put on the elimination block even though he volunteered for it, as he knew he might be targeted by the rest of the houseguests.
Although T'Kor had been coy about her intentions throughout, she did let it slip that the idea of Tucker going home would be interesting if the opportunity arose. The incident happened when Tucker wasn't shy of showing his disappointment to T'Kor about her nominating Angela. Tucker had earlier rallied for Angela's safety despite Angela herself going against Tucker.
Julie Chen Moonves shares her views on contestants' journey on Big Brother season 26
In her recent interview, Julie praised Tucker's time on the show and dubbed him "the most unpredictable yet lovable houseguest". She also chimed in about the chances of the rest of the cast winning the prize money of $750,000 and appreciated every houseguest's unique abilities:
"This is what makes this game so good. It’s anyone’s guess. Cam, because now he’s starting to win things and is athletic? Makensy, because she’s on her way to becoming a comp beast as well with two back-to-back BB A.I. wins?"
Julie went on to say:
"Angela? She’s been HOH twice and is also unpredictable. Chelsie? You heard what Tucker said. She was the mastermind behind the other side of the house, while Brooklyn was the voice. Who knows… expect the unexpected!"
What happened in episode 21 of Big Brother season 26?
In the latest episode of Big Brother 26, Tucker's alliance members started to go against him one by one. After T'Kor put his name up for nomination, she named Angela as the third and final nominee along with Tucker and Makensy. She did this after Cam was able to win the Power of Veto and rule himself out of contention from elimination. T'Kor did so despite Tucker recommending otherwise.
Even Rubina got upset with her showmance partner Tucker as he implied that nobody was being real in the Big Brother house, including her. Chelsie saw the conflict rising and took the opportunity to pitch against Tucker in the elimination round. She approached Cam, who immediately agreed to take Tucker out.
The duo then went to Leah and Makensy with the same and all the houseguests gleefully wondered about the prospect of Tucker going home early. Tucker had been able to win the in-house competitions regularly and was a strong contender to win this season.
Angela, Tucker, and Makensy competed in the AI Arena competition as well, in which the players had to complete a puzzle. The first one to do so would be granted immunity from elimination, leaving the rest of the two to battle it out in the voting round. Makensy won the AI Arena and was able to successfuly save herself this week.
The newfound alliance of Chelsie, Cam, Leah, and Makensy eventually recruited Quinn as well. They were able to oust Tucker with a deciding number of 5-3 against him, sending the latter home.
