"She is not remorseful" — The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City's Bronwyn reacts to Lisa talking about Gwen’s paternal grandparents

During The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season 5 reunion on January 22, Lisa Barlow shared that she knew Bronwyn Newport's daughter Gwen's paternal grandparents and was friends with them. Lisa also mentioned on an After Show episode that Gwen's grandparents claimed they didn’t know about Gwen and were told by Bronwyn she had a miscarriage.

Bronwyn, who had never spoken about Gwen's biological father to anyone except Lisa, confronted her and expressed that she should not have discussed Gwen's paternal family on the show in front of millions of viewers. When Lisa tried to defend her comments and explain herself, Bronwyn responded by saying:

"She is not remorseful, she just keeps defending it."

In The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season 5 reunion part 1, Lisa recalled a conversation she had with Bronwyn, at the foot massage place, about possibly knowing her daughter Gwen's biological dad.

Lisa shared that before they had the conversation, she recognized a person from a photo Bronwyn had on her phone. When Bronwyn revealed that it was the photo of Gwen's biological dad Lisa shared that she knew the family.

"I knew him very loosely. I'm friends with his parents. I know him because I used to go to his mother's house and up the stairs, she had a picture of him," Bronwyn shared during the reunion episode.

Bronwyn revealed that she had never shared the photo of Gwen's father with anyone except her daughter. She admitted feeling relieved when she was finally able to discuss it with Lisa.

However, Bronwyn expressed feeling upset that Lisa seemed more focused on defending Gwen's paternal family rather than supporting her. Additionally, Lisa was unhappy that her Real Housewives of Salt Lake City castmate brought up the matter during the After Show.

"I had a long conversation with Gwen's grandmother and she's like, 'We're open to meeting her. We're excited'. She's like 'The last we were told, you know, Bronwyn had a miscarriage and there was no child'. And then her son who passed away, his wife reached out to Bronwyn and she's like, 'But we never got to meet Gwen,'" Bronwyn said during After Show

During The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 5 reunion episode, Lisa explained that she was simply "innocently" sharing her thoughts about her friend Bronwyn, her daughter Gwen, and Gwen's paternal family.

"It's not about their house, it's not about the things they've accomplished, it's about their hearts and that's how I know them. No matter whose perspective you're going at it, it's the most sad like thing that could have happened to anyone," the The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star continued.

Bronwyn recalled their conversation at the foot massage parlor, where Lisa mentioned that Gwen's paternal grandmother had told her she believed Bronwyn had a miscarriage.

During the reunion, Bronwyn shared that she never informed Gwen's biological father about their daughter, fearing a lack of support. She also revealed her father had reached out to the family but received no response. Bronwyn expressed her concerns about privacy, stating she had asked the production team to limit coverage of Gwen's paternal family.

"I asked production not to play those clips if possible because I did not want to out that he had any other details that would be identified. I wanted to be very careful what was said on camera about these people in the 18 years I've had," she said.
