Selling Sunset is a popular reality show on Netflix, showcasing the drama and relationships between the agents at the Oppenheim Group in the world of high-end real estate in Los Angeles.
In the most recent season, which aired on September 6, tensions were high as Mary Fitzgerald got into a heated argument with Chelsea Lazkani. While participating in a fan Q&A on social media day, Mary was asked who the biggest pot-stirrer in the office was, and she named Chelsea.
This lighthearted remark quickly escalated into a severe confrontation when Chelsea became aware. Mary revealed that she got a text from Chelsea:
"'Keep my fu**ing name out of your mouth.' She said she's going to come at me."
In Selling Sunset, personalities clash and alliances shift, raising the stakes in the real estate market and among agents themselves.
A fiery office clash in Selling Sunset
While getting a fake tan at home for Amanza's birthday, Mary Fitzgerald tells Amanza Smith and Nicole Young— two of her colleagues— about a conflict starting to form at work. The tension started when the Oppenheim Group had a social media day, and agents answered fans' questions.
One fan asked who the biggest pot-stirrer in the office was, and Mary, without thinking, named Chelsea Lazkani. This candid response, however, did not sit well with Chelsea. The information quickly reached Chelsea through Emma Hernan, setting off a chain of events that would escalate the office drama.
Chelsea warned Mary to keep her name out of the mouth, or she would come at her. After hearing this, Mary's husband even said that if Chelsea messes with my wife, she messes with me.
Conflict resolution between Chelsea and Mary in Selling Sunset
In episode 3 of Selling Sunset, Mary goes to Chelsea at Amanza Smith's 47th birthday party to make things right and move past the incident. Their conversation quickly went off track, though, and became a heated argument in which both agents yelled at each other.
When things got really bad, Mary's husband, Romain Bonnet, stepped in, which made Chelsea even angrier and added another level of conflict to the drama already happening.
Despite the explosive exchange, the two eventually found common ground in episode 4, during an emotional conversation in which both agents discussed their past traumas. Chelsea's heartfelt apology and Mary's tears made them forgive each other. Chelsea said she felt closer to Mary after this honest conversation.
A new addition to the cast of Selling Sunset season 8
The first episode of Selling Sunset introduced Alanna Gold, the newest member of the Oppenheim Group. Alanna, 32, is from a different background and brings a new point of view to the team. She grew up in a small town in Canada and has only been in real estate for three years, but she has already made a name for herself.
Her real estate portfolio made her stand out from other agents. For example, she owns Pioneertown, a real Old West town in the California desert, that was once used as a movie set.
Alanna later invited the agents to stay in Pioneertown and live as people did in the Old West, so they could get a feel of her unique property. Only Mary Fitzgerald, Amanza Smith, and Nicole Young made the trip. It was a memorable one for all of them, which combined business with a bit of Wild West adventure.
