"She's just not his type": Love is Blind Mexico cast members discuss Chema and Sylvia's relationship

Love is Blind Mexico is another valuable addition to the library of international editions the coveted dating reality show harbors on Netflix. This includes versions in Sweden, Japan, and Brazil, among others.

The first four episodes of the show, which were released on August 1, saw some participants find what they were looking for. Their chats culminated in them getting engaged and sent on a honeymoon alongside other couples of the season, to further the experiment.

Chema and Sylvia hit it off from the very first episode of the show. He also had ventures with Alejandra, but his love for Sylvia prevailed and they got engaged. After the two met other couples on their honeymoon retreat in episode 4, some of them talked about them in their absence. Fernando said,

"Maybe she's just not his type. But they are very alike."

Gerardo and Fernanda agreed. They doubted if their relationship would last long and get to the point of marriage.

After Chema proposed to Sylvia in episode 3, it was time for their big reveal. But before they saw each other, Chema told the cameras that he was nervous because he emphasized physical appearance a lot. He added that he was picky when it came to looks and hoped he liked Sylvia that way.

When he saw her Chema complimented her looks, he specifically liked her smile, her big eyes, and her dimples. But when the two of them saw the other couples in the retreat, they assumed that Sylvia probably didn't meet Chema's physical expectations.

Francesca was the first to point this out in a confessional on Love is Blind Mexico episode 4. She said this because she had been friends with Chema since before they came to the show. She said,

"Knowing Chema's past, what makes me a little nervous is how particular he is about appearance".

She added that she didn't know how he had changed in recent times, or how he felt about Sylvia. Then came the scene when Gerado and Fernanda, and Karen and Fernando went on a double date and talked about the same. Fernando said,

"When I saw them, I thought physically, maybe she's just not his type".

He added that despite their differences, they seemed alike and got along very well, so that could mean they were a good match. Fernanda agreed with it and said that Sylvia might not be Chema's usual type, but they laughed a lot. Fernando then asked them,

"Do you think it's a doomed relationship?"

Gerardo said they were having a good time, but he didn't know if their current relationship could transform into marriage. Fernando echoed his sentiments, saying he too didn't know if they would get into "something more serious."

Right after these four had a conversation about Chema and Sylvia's relationship on Love is Blind Mexico, the duo was documented talking about their future, in the pool. They talked about how both of their families would get along well, but for the most part, their conversation revolved around Chema's daughter.

Sylvia said she couldn't wait to be a part of Chema's happy family. Chema said he was going to have a conversation with Sylvia about his daughter before their "big day" so he could acquaint her with their situation. This sheds light on Chema's honest intentions of marrying Sylvia, contrary to what other cast members talked about.
