"She's not quite ready" — Love & Marriage: Huntsville star Kimmi on Tricia's pending divorce from Marques

Love & Marriage: Huntsville season 9 aired a new episode, Open House, Closed Mouths, on Saturday, December 28, 2024. It showcased the cast attending Martell's open house, during which Kimmi and Nell inquired Tricia about the status of her divorce from Marques. The ladies were taken aback when Tricia revealed she had yet to file the divorce papers.

While Tricia defended herself by mentioning that she could not find the time to visit the courthouse to file the documents, Kimmi remained unconvinced. The Love & Marriage: Huntsville cast member believed Tricia had unresolved feelings regarding her marriage to Marques that prevented her from closing the chapter once and for all.

"My firm belief is that people make time for what they wanna make time for. What you may call the reason you ain't get it done, I call an excuse. Taking five years to fill out paperwork may indicate she's not quite ready to put the past behind," Kimmi said in a confessional.

An earlier episode showcased Tricia getting the divorce papers notarized in the presence of Destiny. She even expressed excitement over completing the process, looking forward to entering a new phase of life with her partner, Ken.

"Marques is still in love with Trish" — Love & Marriage: Huntsville star Martell comments on Marques and Tricia's relationship

In one of the segments of the Love & Marriage: Huntsville episode, Ken sat down with Tricia to discuss their future. While Ken appeared thrilled about marrying Tricia, she expressed some concerns. During a confessional, she explained that she hesitated to tie the knot a second time because she feared she would have to relive her previous marriage's experience.

Although her relationship with Marques was challenging, she still hoped he would show up for their children and perform the duties of their father. With that said, she knew she could never repair her relationship with him because of how their separation impacted her emotionally.

Meanwhile, Ken stated that he understood why marriage bothered Tricia. He knew that she needed time to overcome her experiences with Marques. Although he was more than willing to give Tricia the time and space to recover, he wished she would divorce Marques and move on from that phase of her life as soon as possible.

While reflecting on his dynamic with Marques during the open house, Ken told Chris, Maurice, and Martell that he wanted him to be proactive and show up for his children. The Love & Marriage: Huntsville star confessed that he was even willing to assist him in reworking his relationship with the children. However, despite the support, Marques failed to meet their expectations.

Meanwhile, Kimmi and Nell pulled Tricia aside for a conversation to discuss her divorce status. They were shocked to discover Tricia had yet to file the documents. Although she defended herself by saying she was busy with office work, Kimmi believed the Love & Marriage: Huntsville star harbored unresolved feelings regarding Marques.

Elsewhere, Martell advised Ken to respect the love Marques had for Tricia. While speaking to the cameras, he said:

"I feel that Marques is still in love with Trish. Ken, I feel that he should remove himself from this picture. Leave that family alone and see what they gonna do. Allow her to get the divorce on her own. Don't you be that person forcing her to get a divorce."

The Love & Marriage: Huntsville star believed Ken was disrupting the relationship between Marques and Tricia. Moreover, he was convinced their separation took longer than expected because of the feelings they once had for one another.
