Episode 23, released on June 6, featured one such reaction from Serena to her Love Island USA villa partner Kordell. This occurred after Kordel chose to partner up with Daia, whom he picked from the Casa Amor segment of the show.

The Casa Amor segment separated the villa's guys and girls, sending them to two different villas where they met with a new batch of girls and guys, respectively. This was bound to make cracks in the already-established relationships in the villa, and it did.

Kordell met Daia in the guy's Casa Amor and felt an instant connection with her. Since he wasn't in an exclusive relationship or committed relationship with Serena, he decided to go for Daia with ease. When Kordell announced his decision before everyone, Serena flipped a finger at him, leaving everyone shocked and Kordell speechless.

Her reaction left the internet divided. Some fans thought it was fair for Kordell to pair with another girl because he wasn't in a committed relationship with Serena, while others believed Serena's reaction was apt since he was her partner. Kordell and Serena were never a strong match from the beginning of Love Island USA season 6. While Kordell was serious about Serena and inclined toward her, Serena wanted to keep her options open and talk to other guys as well.

Come Casa Amor, Daia wanted to be with Kordell from the very start, without wanting to talk to other boys. They bonded over small things such as empowering walks and her making breakfast for him.

Then on Love Island USA, when Kordell announced his choice in front of the rest of the contestants, he apologized to Serena and said that he wasn't going to disrespect how Serena felt.

Serena bit back, saying, "You didn't respect anything else. Barely yourself". She then added that she didn't care what Kordell had to say and didn't want to hear anything from him. She said she just wanted to move on.
