The fourth season of Netflix's South Korean dating series Single's Inferno premiered on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, featuring a new set of singles who participated in the experiment to find compatible partners. The premiere episode showcased the ladies introducing themselves, while the men competed for an opportunity to choose a partner to take to Paradise, a luxurious retreat.
Episode 1 saw the singles describe their personality traits. While some gushed about their appearance, others showed confidence in their competitive personalities. The male and female cast members remained isolated on two separate Infernos (islands) and were refrained from disclosing their age or profession.
Soon after, the male contestants participated in a game to win a chance to head to Paradise with a woman. Yuk Jun-seo won the challenge and took Chung You-jin away from the island, whereas runner-up Kim Jeong-su paired with Lee Si-an. The rest of the cast remained stranded on their respective islands.

What happened in Single's Inferno season 4 episode 1?
Lee Si-an was the first single to arrive at the female's Inferno. While introducing herself, she confessed that being single was a "rare occasion" for her. Consequently, she hoped to find a "passionate kind of romance" on the show with a man who would have a "tough mentality."
The next single introduced was Chung You-jin, a dancer by profession, known for her "bubbly" personality. During a confessional, she revealed that she unconsciously ran her hand through her hair whenever she was around someone she fancied.
"I speak in a cute way too," she added.
Kim Min-seol was the third single featured on Single's Inferno. She described herself as competitive and added that she was willing to put her best foot forward to win the games and "seize the man" she liked. Bae Ji-yeon arrived next, expressing confidence in her "hotness factor."
Kim Hye-jin followed Ji-yeon, introducing herself as a "quirky" and "unpredictable" person. The last female cast member to arrive was Kim A-rin, who stated she was "easy-going" and received a lot of compliments on her appearance.
Soon after, the ladies met one male single, who was introduced as the "first place" contestant, implying that the men had already competed in a game. He was offered the opportunity to partner with one of the women and head to Paradise. Before he made his choice, the MCs were shown the events that had occurred an hour earlier at the men's Inferno.
Kim Te-hwan was the first male single to arrive on the island. While introducing himself, he said that he prioritized romance over work and often got his way with things due to his appearance. Kook Dong-ho followed Te-hwan, describing himself as "sweet and tender."
The next Single's Inferno participant was Jang Theo, who described himself as a "bulldozer." Singles Kim Jeong-su and Yuk Jun-seo came next. While speaking to the cameras, Jun-seo confessed he was confident with his physicality since he was a former UDT soldier and worked out daily.
"Unlike my stoic outer appearance, some people have said that I'm rather adorable," he added.
After the men were introduced, viewers were brought back to the women's Inferno, where Jun-seo waited to select his Paradise date as the winner of the men's challenge. Glimpses of the game showed the male participants battling to score as many goals as possible, playing handball in a swimming pool.
After some deliberation, Jun-seo picked You-jin for his date. Soon after, Jeong-su, the game's runner-up, arrived and chose to take Si-an to Paradise. The remaining men and women remained isolated in their respective Infernos.
During his date with You-jin, Jun-seo confessed he "chose well," stating that her smile attracted him to her. While the Single's Inferno star shared that he was a 28-year-old artist, You-jin said she was a 28-year-old dancer. The couple bantered, discussed hobbies, and shared their ideal "types."
Elsewhere, Jeong-su enjoyed a dinner date with Si-an. During their meal, Si-an shared that she was a 25-year-old model, whereas Jeong-su told her that he was a 33-year-old food and beverage business owner.
While explaining why he chose Si-an, Jeong-su confessed he was attracted to her because she had the "prettiest smile." Upon hearing that, Si-an said:
"I'm blushing."
Later in the Single's Inferno episode, You-jin and Jun-seo enjoyed some quiet time in a private swimming pool. Meanwhile, Jeong-su and Si-an discussed their connection over champagne. Both pairs hoped they could return to Paradise with each other by winning the coming challenges.
The episode ended with the arrival of a woman at the men's camp. However, her identity was not disclosed, leaving the MCs in anticipation.
