Sister Wives Season 19 Episode 17 recap: Christine and David get married while Kody reflects on missing the celebration

Sister Wives Season 19, Episode 17, titled Love is Patient, Love is Kind, premiered on TLC on January 12, 2025. The episode featured Christine and David's long-awaited wedding ceremony that took place in October 2023.

Christine and David exchanged vows and tied the knot in a heartfelt ceremony surrounded by her children, as well as Janelle and her kids, who joined in the joyous celebration.

Meanwhile, Kody and Robyn, who weren't invited, spent their time clearing trees in front of their shared house. Later in the episode, Kody shared his thoughts on Christine and David's marriage and compared his new "normal" life with his life before the three divorces.

What happened on Sister Wives Season 19 Epsiode 17?

Sister Wives Season 19 Epsiode 17 kicked off with preparations for Christine and David's wedding ceremony. As Christine was getting ready to walk down the altar, her daughter Ysabel sat down with her and shared how she was making the right decision to marry David.

She told Christine that she noticed David taking every opportunity he got to express to her mother how much he loved her.

“We were out of town and he looked at you and he was like, ‘Oh, I love you so much. Like, just honest and pure. And I’ve never heard somebody say ‘I love you’ that much to you,” the Sister Wives star said.

Ysabel later expressed in her confessional that she was initially worrying about David proposing to her mother just two months into their relationship, adding that it was "very soon". However, after seeing how much the Sister Wives couple deeply loved each other, she came to an ease and was happy with their decision.

Christine walked down the aisle accompanied by her son Paedon. Paedon was struggling to hold back tears and told his mother that David was “a really good man.”

Christine and David took their vows and got married in front of their friends and family.

Kody chimes in on Christine marrying David and shares his thoughts on his new monogamous life

Kody and Robyn were not invited to the wedding, as Christine explained that she didn’t want her ex-husband and his wife present on the "best day" of her life.

So instead Kody and Robyn were occupied with clearing trees near their house to improve their view of the mountain.

During the segment, Kody shared his thoughts on Christine marrying David in his confessional and said that he was "excited" for his ex-wife. While he felt that the couple "moved pretty fast" in their relationship, he expressed that he was happy for the couple.

"I'm really excited for her. I've only met David once, and everything that I can gather is it's moved pretty fast, but sometimes you just know... I hope they're happy. And I hope someday the time comes where we're just comfortable being around each other," he said in his confessional.

Now that Kody was married to Robyn, he happily declared to the cameras that he was a monogamist now. However, he did miss his polygamist life which he felt was "mostly good."

He also noted that he was still adjusting to his new "normal" life as he wasn't getting the attention he used to get before his three divorces.

"It's like it's a real different world, the world that I have with Robyn and our children. It's kind, it's pleasant, it's beautiful. It's small... I got to admit this. I think I need a lot of attention. It's been different to be in a place where I don't get as much attention," the Sister Wives star said in his confessional.
