What happened in Sister Wives season 19 episode 19?

Janelle reflects on the financial problems they faced as a polygamous family

At the start of Sister Wives season 19 episode 19, Janelle sat down with Christine to discuss the family fund they had when they were all part of the Brown family.

Janelle shared that she didn't have control over her own money as every family member was pulling from the same account. She further noted that while having a family fund was a good idea, it soon turned into a reason for their problems.

The Sister Wives star shared that during their earlier days, they were careful about the family fund, and used to keep tabs on each transaction. However, during the last few years before the family broke up, she claimed that Kody used to take out money without any reason and used to spend a lot of it.

“When we all first started, there was kind of like this thing [where] we weighed in on what bills should be paid, how we were going to pay, who got priority. And then the last several years, Kody would just take out funds and I don’t know what for. And the money was just being spent — and lots of it," she said in her confessional.

In his confessions, Kody later responded that he had 18 children to take care of and was married to three other wives besides Janelle. Due to this, he explained that there were family expenses that "weren’t always Janelle’s business".

Janelle and Meri discuss the Coyote Pass property

Later in the episode, Janelle and Meri hopped on a video call to discuss the Coyote Pass property situation. The two Sister Wives costar needed answers from Kody who was avoiding the topic for a long time.

The two decided to hire their separate lawyer to tackle the issue and the fare price of their share of the Coyote Pass property.

“I trusted it would all work out in the end. And looking back now, I’m like, ‘Wow, it’s really dumb. Why did I not insist that we were all titled on all the pieces? “I just was too trusting, I guess,” Janelle shared in her confessional.

While Janelle and Meri noted that they had paid equally for the property, Kody contradicted this in his confessional, claiming that wasn’t the case. He stated that he paid "92 percent" of the cost on his own, with the remaining amount covered through collaboration.

Robyn doesn't want Kody to sell the Coyote Pass property

Elsewhere in the episode, Kody and Robyn also visited the Coyote Pass property with their children.

During the segment, Robyn expressed in her confessional that she liked the property and didn't want Kody to sell it off. She felt that the property held some value as it was the last place where the Brown family were all together.

“Every time I’m at Coyote Pass, I’m just like my heart aches. I [just] see the vision that I’ve always imagined, you know, all of the space and the houses,” she added.

New episodes of Sister Wives season 19 air every Sunday on TLC.
