What happened in Sister Wives season 19 episode 5?
Kody met Mykelti's baby twins for the first time during the start of the episode. Robyn helped Mykelti with the kids after their birth and she explained the twins were not identical and could be easily distinguished due to their features.
In a confessional, Mykelti showcased her gratitude towards Kody for visiting her post-pregnancy which had been difficult due to them living far apart.
Later, Kody pitched the idea of buying a house in Flagstaff where they could live with Mykelti and her husband, Tony. Mykelti rejected the idea and suggested they were open to visiting them.
Kody explained that he always loved the idea of a big family and Robyn explained that when Kody shows his sensitive side, you could tell he missed the family.
Janelle and Gabriel cooked some food and sat down to have an open conversation about the latter's fragmented relationship with Kody. Gabriel is Janelle and Kody's son who drifted apart from his father after Robyn came into the frame.
Gabriel explained that in their recent conversation, Kody sought an apology, which baffled him.
Janelle revealed in her confessional on Sister Wives that Kody was a good parent during Gabriel's childhood and as time went by, started giving attention to other kids. She also accused Kody of wanting to be the patriarch of the whole family.
"I don't really know what Kody wants. The last I knew he really just thinks the kids should let him be their patriarch. And how that would go is I think they would have to conform to the way Kody and Robyn see the world," stated Janelle.
Meri gave an update on her marital status with Kody on Sister Wives. Earlier, Meri legally divorced Kody in 2014 but remained "spiritually wedded" until their separation in 2023.
Calling the events of the latest season "interesting", she revealed that Kody wanted her to leave, which gave her the impression that he wanted to keep his hands clean.
This prompted her to move on with the official termination of their relationship through church. She asked for Kody's input on the matter as she revealed to him her thought process but Kody never responded.
She revealed that the church had granted her a release from her spiritual wedding.
Janelle and Gabriel continued their dinner conversation in which Robyn's role in the family matters came up. Gabriel expressed that Robyn might have a victim complex. Janelle later revealed that her kids have a lot of anger towards Robyn as they felt she twisted their words growing up.
Gabriel concluded the conversation by stating that he always tried to have a good relationship with Robyn's kids and if she believed otherwise, he didn't want a relationship with her.
Before the Sister Wives episode ended, Robyn got emotional thinking about how all the family members were apart now and relayed her desire to call Meri over for Christmas.
