TLC has released season 19 episode 6 of one of their oldest reality shows, Sister Wives, on October 20, 2024, at 10 pm ET. The episode will also be made available the next day for streaming on Hulu.
Sister Wives focuses on the lives of the Brown family which consists of Kody Brown and his four wives (Robyn, Christine, Janelle, and Meri), highlighting their polyamorous relationships.
The previous episodes of season 19 focused on Kody's separation from all his wives except Robyn. Mykelti had a baby shower for her upcoming child which reunited the family after months and Christine announced her new love to the family and kids which surprised Kody.
Previously, Meri divorced Kody but remained "spiritually wedded" until their separation in 2023. Christine Brown also separated from Kody in late 2021 while Janelle left Kody in 2022 after spending 30 years with him.
The synopsis of episode 6 provided by TLC reads:
"The Browns spend Christmas apart; Christine talks with her kids about her new boyfriend, David; in a heated sit down, Kody blames Meri for their divorce; Janelle wants to settle the property dispute with Kody and move on."
What happened in Sister Wives season 19 episode 6?
After the separation, the Brown family's "wives" started living separately and discussed what it was like spending the holidays apart during Christmas. Meri decided to visit Salt Lake City and spend Christmas with her friends.
Meri shared that Kody had contacted her and asked to not spend the holidays together on Sister Wives.
Mykelti also reminisced about the past because the family dynamics had changed after Kody's split with the wives. Janelle got emotional while cooking as previously she never had to cook in the presence of other wives.
"I think this will slowly become the new norm and that's okay," claimed Janelle.
Christine opened up to her kids when they were all gathered up at Mykelti's house to take care of her newborn. She talked about her new partner, David Woolley, who was accepting of her polyamorous ways.
Mykelti was surprised to know that David proposed to her within a week of knowing each other. She revealed that David hugged her afterward and the sound of his heartbeat calmed him.
Janelle hung out with her daughter, Madison, on Sister Wives and discussed her shared property with Kody in Coyote Pass. She wished for Janelle to live with her and went to Montana to look over a property.
Janelle showed frustration regarding Kody's slow approach to selling the property because she just wanted to move on to the next phase of her life.
Later, Kody met with Meri after a long time and asked her how she had been. This led to the former couple talking about their relationship and the subsequent separation. Meri claimed that his request to separate blindsided her but Kody didn't agree with what she had to say and went on a rant in his confessional.
"Don't blame me for not loving you, I was doing my duty. Blame yourself if I don't love you," stated Kody in a confessional.
Meri explained on Sister Wives that she was not trying to put the blame solely on Kody but stated a fact that the latter declined to work on their relationship. Kody defended himself by stating that he could have "faked through it" but decided to be honest about his feelings instead.
He also blamed Meri's behavior as part of the reason he fell out of love.
Christine went on a date with David and confessed that she felt like David was her soulmate. This made her realize why Kody wanted to just be with Robyn all the time.
Meri let Kody know that she’s no longer his wife which made Kody wonder what the future will hold for them.
New episodes of Sister Wives air on Sundays at 10 pm ET on TLC.
