TLC's hit show Sister Wives is now in its 19th season. The show follows the daily life of the Browns, with Kody Brown, his ex-wives Christine, Janelle, and Meri, and his current wife, Robyn, along with their children. The polygamist family was first introduced on the show in 2010.
The family has practiced polygamy and moved from Lehi, Utah, to Las Vegas and now to Flagstaff, Arizona. The show focuses on family dynamics as its main theme. Last season ended with many tense moments as Meri and Kody's marriage fell apart.
The couple's split led to a heated interaction that left Kody's current wife, Robyn, sobbing and disappointed. Additionally, the tragic death of Kody and Janelle's son, Garrison, will be addressed in the new season, which is set to air on September 15, 2024, at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
What does the new trailer of Sister Wives entail?
Regarding the last seasonal split between Meri and Kody, the intense confrontation between the former couple is shown first in the trailer, with Kody expressing his emotions candidly. The fall of their relationship is reflected in the trailer as Kody is found yelling at Meri, saying,
“It’s not divorce that s*cks, It’s marrying the wrong person.” He adds, “Blame yourself if I don’t love you, OK?”
This upsets Meri, and she replies by saying in a confessional interview clip,
“What s*cks is marrying the wrong person and not having the decency to tell her until 32 years later.”
The trailer also shows Kody's conflict with his current and only remaining wife as his marriage falls apart with Meri. Robyn was seen saying in the trailer that she was having a hard time and losing respect for Kody. Kody's relationship with her becomes strained as he navigates the aftermath of parting ways with his three ex-wives.
Amid this, Robyn expresses her feelings of being left behind, as she mentions in the trailer. Meanwhile, the patriarch of the polygamist family, who is also the father of 18 children, reflects on his past actions and wonders what led to the current difficulties.
In the trailer, we see Christine, who separated from Kody in 2021, discovering a new romance with David Woolley. The trailer includes a confessional interview with the couple. Christine and David tied the knot in October 2023, and this season documents the initial meeting between Kody, David, and the other sister wives.
In the recent trailer, Janelle, who parted ways with Kody in 2022, openly declared to Christine that their relationship was not working. She expressed her interest in the Coyote Pass property and hinted at something in the trailer that could potentially exacerbate Kody's troubles in the upcoming season.
“But we’ve got to pay it off and he’s not talking to me about it, so I think I’m gonna have to lawyer up.”
In the upcoming season of Sister Wives, the show will address the heartbreaking loss of Garrison Brown, the son of Kody Brown and Janelle, who tragically passed away from suicide in March 2024. TLC issued a press release regarding Garrison's passing. The statement expressed the family's journey through profound sorrow as they collectively mourned and honored his life amidst the devastating tragedy.
The upcoming season of Sister Wives promises to address some weighty and impactful issues as the family navigates through the aftermath of the recent breakups. The season will also delve into the strained relationships within the family following their separations. Viewers are eagerly anticipating how the new circumstances will unfold for the Brown family.
Season 19 of Sister Wives is scheduled to premiere on September 15 at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
