In season 18, episode 7 of The Real Housewives of Orange County, released on August 22, the focus was on Shannon's lawsuit with her ex-boyfriend John. John claimed Shannon owed him $40,000 for a facelift and $35,000 she borrowed later. In the episode, Shannon stated that John never paid for meals or plane tickets during their relationship and that the $75,000 was a gift.
In a different turn of events on The Real Housewives of Orange County, John's now girlfriend Alexis, was caught crying in the bathroom with Katie by her side. She said she was sad and in disbelief about how Shannon treated John. She then referred to a "footage" and said that Shannon would have to reimburse John's money if she didn't want him to out the clip.
Alexis said she wasn't allowed to divulge details on this footage but Katie later revealed that it was video proof of Shannon trying to run over John's daughter while she was drunk. Some fans of The Real Housewives of Orange County have come to X to react to Alexis crying. They started criticizing her for being too into John's legal matters.

"Alexis laying there crying was so overdramatic. She keeps talking about this video and it’s so f*cked up how her and John are holding it over Shannon’s head while also suing her for $75k. He’s a piece of sh*t," a fan said.
"Why is Alexis having breakdowns over what John and Shannon are going through, like girl it’s not that serious and has nothing to do with you," said another.
"Why is Alexis crying? Can someone also remind her she wasn’t there with John & Shannon - therefore she doesn’t know the full truth? She knows one side," a comment read.

Some The Real Housewives of Orange County fans advised Alexis to stay out of it because they thought it was none of her business. Others pointed out that what she was doing came under blackmailing and extortion.
"Isnt this extortion? Isnt it illegal? I dont think Alexis is smart enough to get it," a user wrote.

Tamra talks to Shannon about her issues with alcohol on The Real Housewives of Orange County season 18 episode 7
After John claimed he had footage of Shannon nearly hitting his daughter while drunk, Tamra met with Shannon for lunch to discuss her alcohol issues. Tamra expressed concern that Shannon wasn't receiving adequate help after her DUI.
Shannon quipped:
"If I get to a point where alcohol is an issue with me, I will look at it."
Shannon then pointed out the moments she had seen Tamra drunk in an attempt to flip the blame on her. Tamra rhetorically asked her if she had ever rammed her car into a house. Shannon got up and went to the bathroom to which Tamra quipped and asked if she was sneaking a drink in there.
