The first season of Love is Blind: Argentina premiered on Netflix on Wednesday, November 6, 2024. The Argentinian spin-off of the dating experiment featured a diverse lineup of men and women, who participated in the show to try their luck at love, vying to find their life partner, sight unseen.
The cast members engaged in deep conversations, unveiling their most emotional stories to strengthen their bonds. Since they could not judge one another at first appearances, the hopeful singles relied on their discussions to understand the personality and character of the person sitting across from them.
One cast member who found her partner early in the show was Emily, who connected with Santiago and accepted his proposal in episode 1 of Love is Blind: Argentina. She admitted he made her feel comfortable and safe enough to open up about her life's biggest crisis. She got emotional while narrating her story.
"Someone robbed me and stole my car, and I didn't resist, I just gave him all my stuff, and then he hit me while I was down. I almost fainted," Emily recalled.
The Love is Blind: Argentina star decided to give Santiago a glimpse of her past because she knew he would understand her and comfort her. His ideals and compassionate personality were the traits that attracted Emily and she confessed she was falling in love with him.

24-year-old journalism student and makeup artist, Emily participated in the social experiment to find the love of her life. She revealed she had been single after her last relationship ended on a bitter note. She expressed she never wanted to meet someone like her ex-partner who was "extremely toxic" and "physically abusive."
Emily hoped to meet someone compatible in the pods and found her match in Santiago, a 29-year-old businessman. They instantly sparked a connection when Santiago discovered Emily had the same name as the woman he dreamt of the previous night. Consequently, the Love is Blind: Argentina star felt like they were destined to meet.
Their connection strengthened after a few dates and as they got comfortable with each other they eventually started opening up about more private matters. During one of their dates, Santiago mentioned he wanted Emily to get to know him as a "person with thoughts and feelings" and not just based on stereotypes.
While speaking to the cameras, the Love is Blind: Argentina star said:
"I'm here to connect in a new way. I don't want to just connect on a superficial level."
Santiago revealed he came from a "humble" and "hardworking" family and grew up facing the challenges of life. Consequently, he wanted his partner to know that side of him as well. As he got emotional reflecting on his childhood, Emily encouraged him and found motivation to open up about her story.
She claimed she could relate to him because she was a "simple girl" from a "humble family" too. During a confessional, Emily admitted she loved her connection with Santiago and said,
"I think I'm falling in love."
While discussing family dynamics, Emily told Santiago she got emotional thinking about her nephews who supported her through the difficult phases of life. She explained they made her smile whenever she was "feeling down." Her nephews stood by her especially when she got robbed and physically abused during an accident.
"He took advantage of me. It was such a horrible experience," Emily recalled.
While speaking to the cameras, the Love is Blind: Argentina star noted she struggled to trust men due to her turbulent past but trusted Santiago and knew they were meant to be. However, she hoped Santiago did not think she was trying to play the victim. After opening up to Santiago, Emily stated she did not want to share the same experience with anyone else.
Meanwhile, Santiago got emotional listening to Emily's story. He wanted to "jump through the wall and give her a hug."
"She didn't deserve that," he said.
