Full recap of Southern Hospitality season 3 episode 2

Southern Hospitality season 3 episode 2 opened with the group recovering from Michols’ birthday party, where he made waves. At the party, Michols got drunk and cried before licking cake off Preston’s face. Meanwhile, TJ admitted to Taylor Ann Green that watching Michols interact with Preston made him jealous.

In an attempt to address the issues between them, TJ and Michols went on a pedicure outing where they had a conversation and opened up. Michols revealed his struggles with dating as a gay person of color in Charleston and his sensitivity to rejection stemming from his mother’s lack of support.

After he accused TJ of fitting a pattern of preferring to date white men, TJ clarified that some of his relationships were with closeted individuals. Michols expressed a desire to maintain a platonic friendship, but TJ was disappointed given his deeper feelings.

The episode also saw Joe being furious with TJ over rumors that the latter had supposedly spread, telling people that Joe was gay. Joe got angrier when Austin and Maddi confirmed that they had also heard the rumors. Despite the tension, Maddi refused to cut ties with TJ, defending Joe against the rumors in her confessional.

Maddi also shifted focus to her budding music career and invited Grace Lilly to collaborate on a track, which led to a chaotic scene. The episode included a cameo from DJ James Kennedy, who made an appearance on the show despite his recent legal troubles, as Maddi sought his mentorship.

Meanwhile, Austin’s storyline in Southern Hospitality offered a glimpse into his past and his current challenges. After struggling as a bartender in the previous episode, Michols reassigned him to train as a VIP server under Brad. Austin said that while hospitality was great because it was "high energy," he never "would have pictured this life" for himself.

He added that he joined the Army right out of high school and his unit was set to deploy to Afghanistan when he was diagnosed with epilepsy. The Southern Hospitality star said that he loved "helping people and giving to others," noting that hospitality made it easy for him.

The Southern Hospitality episode also delved into Molly’s background and saw that she planned weddings and events, apart from working at Republic. She also shares a house with Siobhan and bonds with Maddi over their mutual admiration for Justin Bieber.

However, tensions between Molly and Emmy surfaced when the latter referred to Molly as an “insecure b*tch.” Meanwhile, Siobhan raised concerns about Emmy allegedly profiting from using store credit discounts to purchase VIP dresses, sparking a confrontation.

Emmy’s meltdown became the focal point of the latest Southern Hospitality episode. When Siobhan asked her about the dresses, Emmy hyperventilated, before bursting into tears, and had an outburst. She screamed about being a good person and ran around the venue, escalating the situation.

Brad seemingly added fuel to the fire by referencing rumors about Emmy flirting with NFL players at Republic. Will, Emmy’s boyfriend, failed to support her during the meltdown, instead staying on his phone and sending Joe to comfort her.

Later in Southern Hospitality, Molly and Siobhan discussed Emmy’s behavior, noting that Will allegedly calls her “anorexic.” Molly expressed her disapproval, emphasizing that such comments about a woman’s body are never acceptable, especially from a significant other. Despite their issues with Emmy, both Molly and Siobhan agree that she deserved better treatment.
