Episode 4 of Southern Hospitality season 3, aired on January 23, focused on emotional confrontations and unresolved issues. Emmy Sharrett faced conflict when friends questioned her relationship with Will Kulp, leading to an emotional breakdown over allegations about Will's past comments.

Meanwhile, TJ Dinch and Joe Bradley finally sat down for a candid conversation to address the fallout of their fractured friendship, revisiting events that caused years of tension between them. The Southern Hospitality episode also revealed ongoing disputes within the group, further complicating their dynamic.

What happened in Southern Hospitality season 3, episode 4

The ongoing tension between TJ Dinch and Joe Bradley took center stage when the two met at the bar to discuss their strained friendship. They reflected on the foundation of their bond, with Joe recalling that TJ was one of his first and closest friends when he moved to Charleston.

“Friends like you don’t come around a lot,” Joe admitted in Southern Hospitality episode 4, adding that this was the first time he’d experienced a falling out with a best friend.

Their friendship hit a breaking point three years ago after Joe confided in TJ about waking up in a mutual acquaintance’s apartment, only for TJ to share that information with others. Joe expressed his feelings of betrayal, saying,

“The first person you tell something to like that should be the last person to betray you.”

TJ acknowledged his mistake, admitting,

“I take full accountability. You told me something in confidence that I shared, and I should never have done that.”

The fallout in Southern Hospitality escalated when Joe sent TJ a series of angry messages, accusing him of being a “rat” and declaring him “dead to me and my family.” Joe apologized for the messages, admitting he said “the worst thing you can say to someone” in the heat of the moment.

However, he also pointed out that TJ blocked him for five months, which he equated to being written off entirely. TJ admitted that blocking Joe was a deliberate attempt to make him feel the loss of their friendship.

The tension between the two stemmed from deeper issues, including a past incident where Joe, while drunk, touched TJ inappropriately. TJ revealed that he struggled with the situation and felt justified in discussing it, despite Joe dismissing it as insignificant.

“Why am I not allowed to talk about something that I went through?” TJ asked.

The conversation ended on a fragile note, with Joe offering a hug while TJ expressed a desire to fully address their history before moving forward.

Elsewhere in the Southern Hospitality episode, Emmy Sharrett faced her own set of challenges as her friends voiced concerns about her boyfriend, Will Kulp. Michols Peña confronted Emmy about comments Will allegedly made during a drunken night out, including calling Emmy “anorexic” and accusing her of being overly focused on herself.

Emmy defended Will, claiming he was simply deflecting and that there was no toxicity in their relationship. “Will is my person. That is my rock,” she said, insisting she would address any genuine issues if they arose.

Later, the Southern Hospitality cast discussed Will’s behavior during a heated conversation at the lake house. Emmy became increasingly upset, accusing her friends of attacking her relationship without giving Will a chance to defend himself.

“Everyone is claiming to be his friend, and Will is not here. I don’t feel comfortable having a conversation about Will when he’s not here to speak for himself,” she yelled before storming off in tears.

In a moment of frustration, Emmy called Will to share what had happened, sobbing as she recounted her friends’ accusations. Will dismissed their concerns as false, urging Emmy not to engage further.

Emmy remained adamant that Will had been honest with her about his actions and reiterated her belief that they had moved past the incident. Despite efforts by Maddi Reese and Bradley Carter to console her, Emmy expressed anger at her friends, accusing them of betrayal. She said,

“I am livid. These are my good friends. You don’t do this to people you care about."

Back at her house, Emmy reflected on the confrontation with Will by her side. The couple expressed disappointment in their friends, particularly TJ and Bradley, for failing to protect them from the fallout. Will described the situation as “some of the worst betrayal you can have from a friend,” while Emmy declared that she no longer trusted anyone, labeling her friends’ actions as “pathetic” and “disgusting.”
