Lori Greiner, also known as the Queen of QVC, is a prominent investor on Shark Tank. Over the years she has built a huge business empire using her eye for spotting innovative products and turning them into successful names.

The Shark has invested in a lot of products and has often kept an open mind when hearing a pitch. However, she has her limits and opinions about certain products that she doesn't want to be involved with.

In a December 1 Instagram post, Lori talked about three businesses or products that she would never invest in. One of the fields she mentioned was sports, explaining that she doesn't have proper knowledge about them.

"No.3 Sports. Half the time I don't understand certain things," she said.

1) Diet aid and weight loss products

The first business field that Lori Greiner won't invest in is diet aid and weight loss products. Her reasoning stems from prioritizing customer trust and satisfaction.

Diet and weight loss products often make bold claims. Hence, the Shark Tank investor shared that she tries to avoid these products because they usually lead to disappointment or fail to deliver guaranteed results.

"I can't stand them because I don't like to do any type of business or product where somebody could be disappointed or promises something that you can't guarantee," she said.

Lori is strict about this rule. However, there have been several instances where people have used her images in fake ads to promote their weight loss products.

The Shark Tank investor has a separate section addressing their issue on her website where she noted that she doesn't sell or endorse any "Keto, Weight Loss, or Diet Aid” products or is affiliated in any way with these ads.

"My image and my name are being used on fake Instagram/Twitter/Google/TikTok etc. ads. Saying that I promote Keto, weight loss, or diet aid products. I DO NOT sell or endorse any “Keto”, “Weight Loss” or “Diet Aid” Products and I’m NOT affiliated in any way with these ads,” she wrote on her website.

Lori emphasized that her website lists all the products she is officially affiliated with. She requested that any products not included on her website's list be reported to her promptly.

2) Ingestibles

Lori stated that she doesn't like ingestibles, citing the same reason that they often make unverified promises about benefits, which are difficult to guarantee. Additionally, she mentioned that ingestibles posed health and safety risks that could lead to potential legal and regulatory complications that she doesn't want to be involved in.

"I don't like ingestibles. Again, because they are notorious for promising something that you can't guarantee, and also there are health and safety issues that go along with that that I don't want to be worried about," the Shark Tank investor said.

While Lori has a not-so-good impression of ingestibles, there was one Shark Tank product that piqued her interest.

Marz Sprays appeared on season 4 episode 5, which aired on October 12, 2012, and offered a convenient alternative to swallowing a pill. They claimed that their sprays were easy to intake and included all the benefits of pills.

Lori closed a deal with founders for $200,000 for 25% equity, with the option to buy back their 12.5% equity for $800,000.

3) Sports

Lastly, Lori won't invest in sports, simply due to her lack of understanding of the industry. Additionally, she mentioned that if she owned a team, she would constantly feel guilty whenever the opposing team lost.

"Half the time I don't understand certain things. But number 2, there's always a loser. And I don't know, I would just constantly be feeling bad even though I'd want my team to win," the Shark Tank investor concluded.

Shark Tank season 16 episodes air every Friday on ABC.
