Survivor 47 episode 5 premiered on October 16 on CBS. The reality show returned with a new batch of contestants competing for survival on the Mamanuca Islands, Fiji. Divided into three teams, they participated in several challenges, with the team at the bottom voting out one of their teammates.

Team Gata finished at the bottom and was sent to the tribal council. With three votes against her, Anika Dhar was eliminated in Survivor 47 episode 5.

Anika was shocked by the results and looked at her teammates, waiting for an explanation. Sam and Andy raised their hands when the eliminated Survivor 47 contestant asked who was behind it.

The synopsis for the episode, titled The Scales Be Tippin reads:

"The fallout from tribal council leaves one castaway feeling like they are on the outs. During the reward challenge tribes must shoot their shot to land a win and earn an advantage."

How did Anika Dhar get eliminated in Survivor 47 episode 5?

Sam and Rachel were the Gata members who proceeded to the Sanctuary reward in Survivor 47 episode 5. However, the team came in last in the immunity challenge where they had to clear an obstacle course. In the obstacle course, the contestants had to cut a rope, carry a net full of coconuts, knockdown blocks, and re-build them.

Gata successfully negotiated with host Jeff Probst, trading their previously won 3 chickens for 18 eggs. However, they lost the flint and were sent to the tribal council for a vote-out elimination.

Before entering the tribal, there was confusion amongst Gata as to who they would vote out unanimously. Out of the five teammates Andy, Anika, and Sam were in their talks to eliminate.

At the camp, Andy, being in danger, asked Rachel and Anika's alliance to include him in their plan. They didn't trust their Survivor 47 teammate and fed him a fake plan, telling him to vote for Sam. However, Andy anticipated this and went to Sam and Sierra with a plan of his own.

Rachel and Anika were unaware of the top-secret alliance between Andy, Sam, and Sierra, as well as their plan to vote Anika out. After weighing their options and considering whether to target Anika or Andy, Sam and Sierra ultimately stuck to their original plan, casting their votes to eliminate the marketing manager.

Andy was the last person to talk before the voting and said that it was all about hope and waiting for the outcome. Sam left the results to the votes and did not play his one-time idol. His prediction was correct, and the voting results were in his favor. After the votes were tallied, Probst revealed that Anika was the one being sent home that episode.
