In episode 13 of Survivor season 47, titled Bob and Weave, the game intensified as two players were eliminated, narrowing the field of contestants from six to four. This episode, which aired on December 11, 2024, was the first part of the two-part finale.

With two immunity challenges and two tribal councils, the episode featured several strategic moves, alliances, and betrayals. By the end of the episode, Genevieve Mushaluk and Andy Rueda were sent home, leaving only four contestants vying for the $1 million prize in the next part of the finale.

Survivor season 47 episode 13 elimination and highlights

First elimination

The episode kicked off with six remaining contestants. The first major event was the immunity challenge, which involved swimming through water and solving a complex puzzle. Genevieve Mushaluk emerged victorious in this challenge, earning immunity and the food reward.

Mushaluk shared her reward with Sue Smey and Teeny Chirichillo, giving them a break from the island's harsh conditions. She then tried to convince them to vote out Rachel LaMont, a strategic threat.

Unbeknownst to Mushaluk, LaMont held a hidden immunity idol and a block-a-vote advantage, allowing her and Sue Smey to control the game. At the tribal council, while most planned to vote out Sam Phalen, LaMont and Smey shifted the target to Andy Rueda, sending him home instead.

Rueda’s cocky attitude had caused tensions with the two women, making him their target. When the votes were cast, LaMont used her hidden immunity idol to save herself, and she also blocked Phalen's vote using her advantage. As a result, Andy Rueda, a 31-year-old AI research assistant, was voted out and sent to the jury.

Second elimination

After Rueda’s elimination, the remaining contestants began to turn their attention to the next threat: Genevieve Mushaluk. Mushaluk had been playing a strong game, and both LaMont and Mushaluk recognized each other as significant contenders for the $1 million prize.

The second immunity challenge saw LaMont winning her third individual immunity in the season. She proved to be a top player yet again. This challenge entailed navigating through an obstacle course and balancing balls on top of each other as people balanced on a precarious springboard.

With LaMont immune, the remaining players were faced with the decision of whether to vote out Mushaluk or Sam Phalen. Concerned that Mushaluk might have another hidden immunity idol, the remaining players opted to split their votes between Mushaluk and Phalen.

At the tribal council, Mushaluk was eliminated after the majority voted her out, sending her to the jury. This marked the second elimination of the episode, reducing the number of Survivor Season 47 contestants to four, which includes Rachel LaMont, Sam Phalen, Teeny Chirichillo, and Sue Smey.

The Survivor season 47 finale continues with Part 2 airing on December 18, 2024, from 8-10 p.m. ET on CBS. Viewers can also watch it live on Paramount+ or stream it on demand the next day with a Paramount+ Essential subscription.
