In the latest episode of The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills, released on January 22, 2025, Dorit Kemsley shared her thoughts on the drama surrounding Kyle Richards' text conversations with her estranged husband, PK Kemsley. When Dorit and Erika Jayne went to get facials, Dorit expressed some hurt feelings towards Erika, who defended Kyle's actions previously in the episode.
Dorit felt Erika's defense of Kyle was unfair, considering her own feelings about the situation. She believed Erika would not have been okay with similar behavior if the roles were reversed. According to Dorit, Erika chose to believe Kyle's side of the story because it was easier for her to do so.
"That hurt. I'm your friend too. And you saying she did nothing wrong, when my feelings are she did something wrong," Dorit said.
She further continued on The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills:
"And by the way, Erika would not be OK with it — so, Erika chose to believe what Kyle was saying because she feels like it's too hard for her not to." stated Dorit.
The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star Erika defends herself
Erika Jayne explained why she defended Kyle Richards' text to PK Kemsley. At the spa, Dorit questioned Erika about defending Kyle's text, which mentioned not repeating confidential information. Erika said she needed proof to believe Kyle's text was about Dorit, but Dorit didn't require proof. Erika didn't want to take a side without being certain, and she didn't want to assume the worst about Kyle.
Erika explained that she didn't take sides in the conflict between Kyle and Dorit. Instead, she tried to be kind to both women, who were going through difficult times. Erika's goal was to be "supportive" and "objective," without having all the information. She recognized that friendships and home life are separate, and that people's behavior can be influenced by their personal struggles.
"I don't want to choose anybody over anybody, and I'm sure it's going to look like I'm the biggest f*cking flip flopper ever. I hope not. But I was trying to be kind to two women who were in a terrible place," Erika said on the After Show.
In the end, Erika decided to step back and let Kyle and Dorit work out their issues on their own on The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills. She wanted to give both women love and understanding, without taking sides or causing more hurt. Erika concluded by saying she just wanted to do what was best for herself.
She had never been in a situation like this before, where she was caught between two people she cared about.
"Do I have all the information? No, I don't. It's important to remember, you have to take into consideration what's happening to these women at home and [in] their marriages. That, for me, is the biggest thing when I look at people's behavior. Friendships are one thing, home is a whole other ball game," revealed Erika.
Previously, Kyle and Dorit had several intense conversations about Kyle's text messages with PK. Kyle initially said in episode 7 of The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills that the messages were just jokes and memes. However, she later read one of the messages out loud, which she sent after learning about PK and Dorit's split.
In the message, Kyle told PK that she was a friend he could count on, and that she would never share his secrets. However, Kyle later clarified in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills that she meant she wouldn't share PK's secrets on camera. Dorit and some other cast members were unsure about Kyle's explanation. Dorit expressed her doubts to Kyle, saying that PK wouldn't think about it that way.
The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills airs new episodes on Tuesdays at 8 pm ET on Bravo.
