The Real Housewives of Orange County (RHOC) released episode 8 of season 18 on Thursday, August 29. It saw the ladies getting together for a The Traitor-themed party. Tamra Judge, who participated in the celebrity version of The Traitor, i.e., season 2, called Teddi Mellencamp to host their game on RHOC.
Teddi, daughter of singer John Mellencamp and ex-housewife of Beverly Hills, has a long-standing feud with Vicki Gunvalson, another ex-housewife of Orange County. So when the two of them came face to face in episode 8 of RHOC season 18, sparks were imminent.
When Teddi was revealed as a host, she greeted the ladies by saying:
"Welcome Housewives...and Vicki".

Regarding Vicki's guest status in the franchise, Tamra Judge talked about the shade in an exclusive interview with Bravo and said:
"That just kind of slipped out of [Teddi's] mouth. She tries to blame me for it but I'm not the one who told her to say it. Her and Vicki have had this long feud going on".

The interview was conducted on August 15 at Bravo Headquarters, and Tamra was asked where Teddi and Vicki's relationship stood. Tamra sided more with Teddi while saying:
"I don't think there's [a relationship right now]. I think Vicki continues to just trash her".
She then called Vicki "thirsty" and said she had been horrible to Teddi for no reason. Tamra said that Vicki didn't know Teddi, so she might've thought it was a good idea to "stick it to her."

Several stars in the Real Housewives universe reacted to Teddi Mellencamp's comment on Vicki Gunvalson in episode 8. Among them was Heather Dubrow, who, in a confessional, said it was "rude" of Teddi to say so. Gina Kirschenheiter said in a Bravo clip:
"Definitely was not funny in the moment, and Victoria was not feeling that".
Jennifer Pedranti, another RHOC star, said in the same clip that the comment was unbelievable because Teddi knew Vicki was standing right there while she said it. Lastly, Shannon Beader said that if the fans saw her when Teddi made the comment, they would've seen her rolling her eyes.
"I didn't think it was very nice. The two of them have this beef with each other. When someone starts it off this way, how can it end well?," she said.
Teddi Mellencamp's time on RHOC season 18 episode 8
It was Tamra Judge's idea to get her friend and the co-host of her podcast, Two T's in a Pod, Teddi Mellencamp, to host their The Traitor-themed party. She said that she thought Teddi would be the perfect host to such a thing, just like Alan Cumming.
However, after Teddi made the shading comment on Vicki, as soon as she entered, Vicki called her "Tamra's minion" and said she could "kiss her a*s."
The feud between these two started when Tamra, on their podcast in 2022, confessed to Teddi that Vicki had said she found her "boring." This was confirmed by Vicki in an interview with Entertainment Tonight taken in 2022, where she said she didn't like her.
This was just the beginning because their feud grew with more public shade from both sides. Now, it is for fans to see what happens when these two come across each other again.
