"That's not gonna last” — Love is Blind Mexico star Chema’s mom on Silvia’s profession 

Love is Blind Mexico released its second installment of episodes (5 to 8) on August 8. The latest segment saw the five couples of the season, proceeding to the second phase of the social experiment. Coming back from their one-week honeymoon, these couples went on to move in together to further check their compatibility with each other.

While they were living together for three weeks, the couples introduced each other to their families in an attempt to get to know them. Chema also took Silvia to meet his mom and his brother in episode 8. While Silvia was thrilled to see them, she faced some setbacks from the other side.

Chema's mom, Elsa, didn't approve of her profession, which was that of a plus-size model. She thought it wasn't a sustainable profession in the long term. She said:

"She says she's a model, and I think...Well that's not gonna last".

What did Chema's mom have to say about Silvia's modeling profession on Love is Blind Mexico?

In a conversation with her son's new fiancé and to-be wife, Silvia, on Love is Blind Mexico, Chema's mom asked several important questions, in an attempt to get to know her better. She asked Silvia if she needed to be provided for after she and Chema got married, or if was she going to help with the finances.

Silvia said she was going to help, and that she had never needed anyone to provide for her. The contestant added that she also had a few things that she'd rented out. She emphasized that she was very driven and liked helping her mom as well.

To which, Chema's brother asked what she did. Silvia said she was a plus-size model, after which Elsa took to a confessional. She said that she didn't think her career would last and added:

"I'm not one to interfere, but personally I think she should have a more serious profession."

What else went down when Silvia met Chema's mom on Love is Blind Mexico?

Chema's mom, Elsa, said she could decide if she wanted to go forth with the marriage or back out. Chema asked her if she would be mad if Silvia said no at the altar. The lady said no and said that it would be her decision. She then got honest and quipped:

"It sounds crazy to me. I couldn't say yes to someone I've only known for five minutes. I mean seriously?"

Elsa then said she couldn't definitively say if the two of contestants should get married. In a confessional on Love is Blind Mexico, she shared that in a life "full of ups and downs," one should stay with a partner for long enough before they decide to marry. She added that it was "ludicrous" to her to see them getting married after living together for two weeks.

Earlier, before this conversation began, Chema's brother took to a confessional to share that Chema had a chain of relationships in the past. He said that:

"[These relationships] come out of nowhere and usually end the same way".

Meanwhile, Elsa initially got to know how the experiment worked and reconfirmed that Chema had chosen Silvia without ever seeing her. She also asked him if he had seen the other woman (Alejandra), before saying yes to Silvia. Chema said he hadn't.
