The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On season 3 premiered on November 4 on Netflix. The show featured six couples, each with one partner ready for marriage while the other was not. By the end of the experiment, they either have to get married, break up, or go home with someone else.
All couples technically broke up in the premiere episode and entered episode 2 to date other singles. Chanel and Dave joined in for a date at the start of episode 2, during which they discussed their past relationships. Chanel revealed that if her ex, Micah, easily moved on and disregarded their two-and-a-half-year relationship, it would be a major red flag for her.
"I don't want to be… betrayed, like, I know that you're technically single, but if anybody can take you like that easily after we've been together for two and a half years, almost three... Then I'm like, no, I can't. That's a red flag," Chanel said.
The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On star Chanel and Dave talk about their exes
In The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On season 3 episode 2, Chanel and Dave talked about exes after exchanging thoughts about their expectations for the relationship.
Dave admitted he was concerned about their exes and wondered how they were coping emotionally. He shared that he occasionally feels overwhelmed by his thoughts and has even considered leaving the show.
Chanel also shared that she got that feeling as well and felt nervous when she was alone in her room with her thoughts.
"I felt that last night. It's like I'm nervous. I'm fine throughout the day, but when you get back to your room, and you just have yourself and your thoughts… You're like, 'Fu*k this.' You know? 'I'm leaving.' I don't even know where my ex is. I can't go to his room, 'Let's go.' The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On star said.
Dave reflected that after a week of dating, some exes might have already discovered their reasons for being on the show. He also suggested that he might have noticed "one or two people" treating this experience as a "hall pass."
The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On further asked Chanel if she would get hurt if she found out that her ex got physical with somebody. She replied with a loud "yes" and said she didn't want to feel betrayed.
She recognized that she and her ex were "technically single." However, she felt that if her ex were quick to have his head turned and casually discard their two-and-a-half-year relationship, it would be a clear "red flag."
Dave expressed his curiosity about how the couple's mixer would unfold. Each contestant would have the opportunity to choose their next date, and he speculated that everyone would be eager to hear their exes' opinions. He further added that he was afraid of getting hurt.
"It's gonna be interesting tomorrow because we're doing this mixer again where we get to see everybody. So we'll see our exes. It's gonna be like, "I wonder what they're thinking." I'm afraid of just getting hurt," The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On contestant said.
This date followed Micah's date with Mariah. Before the date, he shared in his confessional that Chanel gave him the ultimatum, and while he loved her, he was interested in Mariah and wanted to see where it led him.
The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On season 3 episodes 1-5 are available on Netflix.
