ABC premiered The Bachelorette season 21 on Monday, July 8, 2024. The leading star of the latest season is Jenn Tran, the first Asian-American contestant on the show. She is searching for her potential partner from the 25 contestants.

The Bachelorette season 21 has 13 rules which cast members must follow. They can only move forward and stay in the show after properly adhering to the rules. Since its debut season premiered in 2003, there have been various rules regarding the show and its filming.

The official synopsis for the show reads:

"After charming audiences with her bubbly personality on Joey Graziadei's season of 'The Bachelor,' Jenn Tran will begin handing out roses in Summer 2024."

What are the 13 rules for The Bachelorette season 21 cast members?

1) Contestants’s age

The age limit for contestants is 21. Interested candidates must be at least 21 years old when applying for the show. They must also legally be United States or Canada residents (except Quebec).

2) Currently single

It is quite obvious that applicants must be single. However, the official casting website describes this rule as:

"The applicant must not currently be involved in a committed intimate relationship."

3) Agreeing to filming

Candidates must also agree to allow for filming and audio recording 24x7 if they wish to be on the show.

4) No disclosure

Contestants are required to keep their appearance at a casting session confidential. They can’t disclose any information. Additionally, they need to sign a Confidentiality Agreement.

5) Tests

Before the show, candidates must undergo various psychological, physical, and medical tests.

6) Clothing

Participants are supposed to bring their own clothing to wear during the shoot. The lead star gets styling assistance from Cary Fetman, the wardrobe designer of The Bachelorette.

7) Dress code

While getting their clothes, participants also need to follow a particular dress code. It is to avoid any interference with the shoot and avoid specific patterns that might create issues while filming.

8) No cell phones

Candidates are not allowed to arrive on set with their cell phones. They will be confiscated before the filming begins.

9) Entrances

In the first episode, participants enter the show and introduce themselves. They are supposed to ride in a limo and make the first impression.

10) Dates without food

Viewers might have noticed how contestants who go on dates during the show are rarely seen eating. This is because they already had their meal before the date, which is one of the crucial parts of the show.

11) Duration for Rose dates

Sometimes, participants are supposed to wait long for the Rose dates. It might look quick on the show, but that is post-editing. Actual dates on the show take a long time due to filming and weather conditions, which participants must endure.

12) No internet

For both The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, the candidates are not allowed access to the Internet while participating.

13) No spoilers

While the show is still airing according to its schedule, participants cannot disclose any spoilers before the show is completed. Additionally, behind-the-scenes information is also kept confidential.
