The Bachelorette season 21 finally made its way on July 8 and has already made it to the headlines with episode 2, released on July 15. Jenn Tran, the first Asian American bachelorette found herself amidst a beef between her two suitors, Aaron and Devin.
The beef between the two started with a tiff between the other contestants and Devin on the first group date of the season, when the latter escorted Jenn out during the group date leaving the men pissed.
Aaron Erb the elder brother of Noah Erb, who previously appeared on The Bachelorette season 16, and Bachelor in Paradise season 7, took the fight further than the other men did, which resulted in a tiff between the two.
What happened between Devin and Aaron at on The Bachelorette season 21 episode 2?
The episode saw the crew of suitors, Jenn, and Jesse Palmer fly to Australia for their first date. For their first group date, the participants went to Queen Victoria Market, for a food tour.
While there, all the men were trying to make Jenn feel special in their own unique ways. Devin, however, walked to Jenn and took her away after telling her he had a surprise for her. This didn't sit well with the other men in the group, especially Aaron, who said:
"I feel disrespected. We’re on a group date. It should be a group date. For Devin to pull Jenn away, it’s like, ‘Who do you think you are?'"
The men then collectively decided to get Jenn back, and while they were trying to find them, Jenn took to a confessional to say that she liked how Devin wanted to create a little moment with her. But when the men finally found them, she said she felt bad about leaving them. They said it wasn't her fault implying it was Devin's.
The group then proceeded to a stand-up comedy show, where the host prompted the men to show their sense of humor. During their time on stage, some of the men made it a point to roast Devin. Jeremy called him "Ugly", while Grant said he was "full of sh*t", and Aaron called him "budget Pete Davidson".
The tiff between Aaron and Devin didn't come to an end there because later in the evening on The Bachelorette, the former accused the latter of coming to the show despite not being "ready" to settle down. Devin eventually refutes Aaron's claims, saying:
"I'm not here saying your way is wrong, or your way is right. So, I don’t think it's fair for you to say my way is wrong or my way is right".
He further explained himself saying he was only trying to use the opportunity to spend some time with Jenn. He then shaded Erb saying he didn't think Jenn wanted someone who would sit around and pay attention to what others were doing.
Aaron later pulled Jenn aside for a chat and told her he was passive in his ways so the group date was hard for him. However, just when viewers thought tensions between Aaron and Devin were coming to a standstill, Devin pulled up with an ice cream cart on Jenn and Aaron's date. He insisted that the "ice cream was melting", which stopped Aaron's date indefinitely.
When Jeremy saw Aaron waiting outside the room, he encouraged him to go back in and steal his date with Jenn, which Aaron did. Confused between the two, Jenn told Devin that they had plenty of time to spend together, and continued her date with Aaron. However, after a few moments, Devin went back into the room and asked Aaron to "Get up", which Aaron declined at first, but eventually left the room.
Later in The Bachelorette episode, Devin apologized to Aaron saying he could've "handled things" differently but he also called out the fact that Aaron had questioned his character despite not knowing each other that well. The conversation between the two ended with Aaron gifting a self-help book to Devin.
New episodes of The Bachelorette season 21 come out every Monday, at 8 pm ET, on ABC.
