The Bachelorette season 21 episode 3 was released exclusively on ABC on July 22, 2024. It focused on the show lead, Jenn Tran, forming connections with the single men during the group dates. She went on a solo date with Spencer and indulged in a heart-to-heart conversation with him.

The highlight of this episode was Aaron leaving due to his fighter pilot training. Before exiting, he left a seed of doubt in Jenn's mind by telling her that not everyone was competing on the show for the right reasons.

Here's the official synopsis of episode 3:

"Jenn whisks one man away for a date that could lead to soaring connections, then invites a group of her suitors to a male dance revue; the men go for a high-speed race around the track."

What happened on The Bachelorette season 21 episode 3?

The Bachelorette season 21 episode 3 started off with Spencer and Jenn's date in a helicopter ride. Jenn took this opportunity to get to know Spencer better as the two saw the Great Ocean Road and the Twelve Apostles near the Port Campbell National Park.

During their date, Spencer felt comfortable enough to open up about his experience being in a romantic relationship. He told Jenn that the reason why his previous engagement didn't work out was because his fiancée had cheated on him.

Spencer shared that it was a difficult time for him as his ex broke up with him two months before the wedding. This revelation made Jenn question if he truly moved on from that heartbreak, The Bachelorette cast member reassured her that he was “more ready than ever" to find a genuine connection again.

It was evident that Jenn had a good time on her date, so she decided to give Spencer the rose. Later in the episode, she went on a group date with cast members Dylan, Marcus, Thomas A., John M., Grant, Jonathan, Sam N., Tomas N., Sam M., and Devin to the Forum Theater in Melbourne.

Sam N. was surprised that this date was more inclined towards showing the physical attraction aspect, so he told Jenn he wanted her to fall in love with his personality. Sam N. was the only one to confess on stage that he was “already falling in love with” Jenn and that was the reason why he wouldn't participate in the competition.

However, the rose went to Devin as he talked about struggling with body image issues and why the challenge made him extra conscious about his appearance. Jenn was impressed by his authenticity and vulnerability.

For the second group date, Hakeem, Austin, Jeremy, and Aaron had to compete in a race driving. The rose went to Jeremy and it was revealed that Aaron had to leave the show early for his fighter pilot training. By the end of the episode, Aaron told Jenn he was leaving, and Jenn was supportive of his decision.

Before departing, Aaron mentioned that many guys competing for Jenn's love didn't exactly have the best intentions at heart and weren't there for the right reasons. Upon hearing this, The Bachelorette season 21 star was confused as to what that meant and doubts arose in her mind. She told the remaining cast members:

“I’ve made the wrong decisions in the past and I’m not going to do that anymore. So, if you think that this is not the place that you should be, then you need to get out. Got it?”

Apart from Aaron going home, contestants who were eliminated this week included Hakeem and Tomas A. The Bachelorette season 21 episodes are released every week on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC and are available the next day to stream on Hulu.
