For years, The Bachelorette has captivated viewers with its mix of romance, drama, and connections. In season 21, Jenn Tran, the lead this season, negotiates her path to love among four surviving competitors. As the competition gets tougher, the attention shifts to the much-anticipated hometown dates.
On these dates, each suitor introduces Jenn to his or her family, giving her a peek into their lives outside of the mansion. As Jenn meets the families of Devin, Jeremy, Jonathan, and Marcus in episode 7 of The Bachelorette, the stakes are higher than ever. Jenn gets to know each man better on these hometown dates, which helps her make important decisions about her future.
In Monday night's episode, Jonathan's sister-in-law talked about how she and his brother said 'I love you' after three dates and moved in together two weeks after meeting online. So they do understand about moving fast in relationships.
Devin and Jeremy’s hometown dates in The Bachelorette
The episode 7 of The Bachelorette starts with Devin's date in Houston, Texas, where he grew up. Jenn meets Devin in a park, and to her surprise, he takes her for a run with his run club friends. Jenn gets a chance to know Devin's friends and even his dog, Charlie, in a casual setting.
As the day goes on, Jenn meets Devin's family and can see how much he loves her. But it's clear that he's afraid to fully express how he feels.
However, Devin finally tells Jenn he loves her after his mother tells him to be honest with her. Jenn tells him she likes him, but she's not ready to fully reciprocate the feelings yet.
Next, Jenn goes to Fairfield, Connecticut, which is where Jeremy grew up. The first part of their date is a fun trip to the store, but when Jenn meets Jeremy's family, the mood changes. It's not clear to Jeremy's mother whether he is really ready for an engagement.
Jenn is uneasy after talking to Jeremy's younger sister because she thinks Jeremy might be holding back. Jeremy still tells Jenn that he likes her, but the date ends with a feeling of not knowing what to do next in The Bachelorette.
Jonathan and Marcus’s hometown date in The Bachelorette
Next on Jenn's list is a date in San Diego, California, with Jonathan's family. A fun game of lacrosse to start the day sets a positive mood for the rest of the date.
Some people in Jonathan's family are skeptical about the process, especially his brother and sister-in-law, but Jenn ends up winning them over. This support gives Jonathan the confidence to tell Jenn that he’s falling for her, deepening their connection.
Jenn goes to Tacoma, Washington, for her last hometown date, where she meets Marcus' close family and friends. Marcus isn't sure if he loves Jenn yet, so he's hesitant at first. Marcus's fear of opening up is similar to Jenn's, but both of them get clarity after having honest talks with his sister.
Marcus says he likes Jenn, but he still has some doubts, which makes him nervous about the rose ceremony. At the end of the it, they send Jeremy home, while Devin, Jonathan, and Marcus continue their journey.
This sets the stage for the next important part of Jenn's journey on The Bachelorette.
