American reality dating series The Bachelorette season 21 aired its sixth episode on August 12 on ABC. In the recent segment, the show lead Jenn Tran had to make the tough decision to choose her suitor, with only four roses left to give.
Jenn went on several dates and conversed with all the male contestants. Sam, who was once the frontrunner in the race, was eliminated from the show this week due to his inability to provide honest answers to Jenn's questions.
Along with Sam, Grant Ellis, and Spencer Conley also didn’t make it past the rose ceremony and went home without getting any roses from Jenn in episode 6.
Jenn Tran’s group date in The Bachelorette
Charity Lawson from season 20 showed up to help Jenn with her decision-making. She advised on how to know what she might need from each of her men to solidify their relationships. Charity asked Jenn to write down all the qualities she liked and disliked about each of them, which would help her reflect on her decisions.
Jenn invited Spencer, Jonathon, Sam M., Devin, and Grant up for a date on iHeart Media's Love On-Air Seattle show. Radio hosts Jason and Molly Mesnick, who used to be on The Bachelorette, interviewed them. This group date was aimed at Sam to help him open up about his feelings.
Even though Jenn and Sam were very physically attracted to each other, she felt that he wasn't emotionally available. The date confirmed her doubts about him as Sam couldn't say how he felt about their bond.
He expressed his love for her but she still declared that she “didn’t know” if she was going to meet Sam’s family or not. She decided not to give out a rose on the group date.
The struggle between Jenn and Sam reached a peak at the cocktail party after their date, where Jenn tried to get Sam to explain their relationship. Even though Sam tried very hard to fix things by telling Jenn he loved her and even tried to kiss her, she realized that Sam wasn't the person she was looking for in the show.
Jenn finally decided to send him home before the rose ceremony. She also bid goodbyes to two more contestants, Grant and Spencer, who failed to secure their places in the final four of The Bachelorette season 21.
Marcus and Jenn's solo date in The Bachelorette
Jenn chose Marcus Shoberg, a 31-year-old Army Ranger Veteran from Raleigh, North Carolina, as her first one-on-one date in episode 6. Even though there was Jeremy Simon, who didn't get a chance to go on a solo date with Jenn, she chose Marcus, thinking he still had to bring out his emotional side.
On their date, they got a green letterman jacket, saw a pink dress reveal, and went on an adventure through Seattle, which was based on the Wicked movie theme. Marcus expressed his feelings for Jenn and spoke about his childhood when he and his sister were abandoned by their parents. These instances made Jenn give him a rose and move to the hometown week.
The episodes of The Bachelorette are aired every Monday on ABC.
