The Boyfriend episode 7 also featured many work shifts during which cast members could work with their chosen partner(s).

"It was good to talk to him. I mean….It seems like Shun has decided that maybe he doesn’t want to be just be friends. I think I have a lot to think about. There were definitely a lot of things that I liked about Ikou."

Gensei, after seeing Ryota making coffee for Kazuto, in confessional,

"I don’t know what to say. Well, it was the first time I fully realized his feelings, you know? I see that he obviously likes Kazuto very much. I don’t see a future. I mean, I think my time here is probably done. I feel like this is the end."

The next day, housemates received a message that there would be no shift. Instead, they would go for go-kart racing. Everyone was excited. The message also mentioned that the winner could go on a date with the person of their choice.

Everyone shared their desires and feelings about whom to choose if they won the race. The Boyfriend episode 7 revealed everyone’s thoughts, which were:

  • Dai - Shun
  • Shun - Wasn’t sure
  • Gensei - Ryota
  • Ryota - Kazuto
  • Taeheon - Kazuto
  • Alan - Kazuto
  • Ikou - Kazuto
  • Kazuto - Maybe Ryota

While most housemates were interested in Kazuto, Kazuto said that,

"Maybe a breakfast with Ryota or something," in the confessional.

The first race on the track was between Ikou, Shun, Kazuto, and Taeheon. Ikou came first and won the race. Shun was second. Alan, Dai, Ryota, and Gensei were the racers for the second race. Ryota won the race as he came first, while Dai was second.

The final round was between the winners of the previous two rounds. The racers were Ikou, Shun, Ryota, and Dai. Ikou was leading from the beginning, while Shun was last. However, Ikou was more aggressive, so his kart gave up. Dai was first, and Shun was second, progressing faster.

Shun won the race and became the ultimate winner. As mentioned earlier, the winner would get to go on a date. So when Shun was being asked about his wish, he said, “none.”

Later that night, Ikou asked Kazuto to chat outside the house privately. He told Kazuto that he had fallen in love with Kazuto at first sight. He was talking about their first meeting outside the coffee truck.

Ikou asked Kazuto,

"Do you mind if I like you?"

Kazuto told him they should get to know each other better.
