The Challenge: Battle of the Eras premiered on October 9 on MTV. For its 40th season, the reality show brought back contestants from its four decades. The returning participants were divided into four groups and had to compete against each other to make it to the finale.

Throughout seven episodes, 18 contestants have been eliminated. The eliminated contestants include Leroy Garrett, Amanda Garcia, Mark Long, Katie Cooley, Paulie Calafiore, Nurys Mateo, Brandon Nelson, KellyAnne Judd, Tony Raines, Jodi Weatherton, Horacio Gutiérrez, Aneesa Ferreira, Chris "CT" Tamburello, Emily Schromm, Brad Fiorenza, Jonna Mannion, Darrell Taylor, and Tina Barta.

Episode 2: Leroy Garrett, Amanda Garcia, Mark Long, Katie Cooley, Paulie Calafiore, Nurys Mateo, Brandon Nelson, and KellyAnne Judd

Eight contestants were eliminated in The Challenge 40 episode 2. Amanda and Leroy lost to Nia and Tony, respectively, in the "Balls In" challenge. In the "Pole Wrestle" challenge of the episode, Mark lost to Derrick while Katie lost to Aneesa.

As for Paulie and Nurys, they faced defeat against Theo and Olivia in the "Hall Brawl" challenge. Finally, in the "Take Shelter" challenge, KellyAnne and Brandon came short of Cara Maria and Ryan.

Episode 3: Tony Raines and Jodi Weatherton

Tom and Averery from Era III won "the Gladieater" challenge in episode 3. The winners had to pick two contestants who would compete against the losers, Darrell and Jodi. Ultimately, Tony and Jodi lost the "Pick It Up" arena game and were eliminated.

Episode 4: Horacio Gutiérrez and Aneesa Ferreira

Winners of the episode 4 challenge Laurel and Bananas picked Aneesa and Derrick for the Arena game. The chosen contestants faced off against Jenny and Horacio in the "Pick It Up" arena game. Jenny and Derrick picked up the win, while Horacio and Aneesa were eliminated.

Episode 5: Chris "CT" Tamburello and Emily Schromm

Episode 5 challenge winners Olivia and Kyland pitted Nehemiah and Emily against the losers of that challenge, CT and Tina, respectively. CT lost to Kyland when he couldn't complete the challenge of removing 100 nails from one board and nailing them to another. Consequently, Tina took an early lead, and Emily was eliminated in the process.

Episode 6: Brad Fiorenza and Jonna Mannion

Era IV contestants Josh and Jenny were saved after winning the Cloud Catcher competition at the start of episode 6. They picked Cory and Jonna to face off against Brad and Rachel in the "To the Point" arena game. Cory and Rachel crossed the finish line while Brad and Jonna were sent home.

Episode 7: Darrell Taylor and Tina Barta

Darrell and Tina were picked by episode 7 competition winners Nia and Jordan. The duo got eliminated in the "Boxster-phobia" when they faced off against Kyland and Michele. With this elimination, 18 contestants have been eliminated so far in The Challenge: Battle of the Eras.
