The Challenge: Battle of the Eras episode 10, titled A New Era, aired on Wednesday, October 23 on MTV. The game took a dramatic turn as competitors faced a tough challenge and a tense elimination. In this individual phase, alliances were tested as strategies shifted.

Johnny "Bananas" Devenanzio won the elimination round, sending Ryan Kehoe home and ending his journey.

The Challenge: The elimination process

Host TJ Lavin introduced 'Fire Away,' a puzzle-based challenge that forced players to gather balls and solve a puzzle under intense heat. Bananas, despite an early misstep that saw him accidentally put balls into Jordan Wiseley’s cylinder, managed to recover, though it was Jordan who ultimately won for the men.

For the women, Tori Deal took the victory, earning both players the power to choose one of their fellow male competitors to face off in elimination.

Ryan, who finished last in the daily challenge due to completing his puzzle upside down, was sent directly to the elimination round. Jordan and Tori, holding the power of decision, opted to send Bananas to the elimination arena, setting up a high-stakes showdown.

The elimination was a head-to-head competition called 'Killer Quads,' which involved players driving quad bikes around a track, attempting to catch their opponent by grabbing a ribbon. Bananas won the elimination by a score of 2-0, securing his safety for another week and sending Ryan home.

The Challenge: Highlights of episode 10

One of the key moments of the episode was the fallout from the daily challenge, where Bananas’ mistake of placing balls in the wrong cylinder provided a humorous moment, with TJ laughing at the blunder.

However, Bananas’ experience in The Challenge allowed him to recover quickly. Jordan and Tori’s decision to send Bananas into elimination sparked tension, with Bananas ready to “unleash his wrath” if he could pull off a victory, which he did against Ryan.

Ryan’s performance in the elimination was marked by a crucial mistake in the second round, which allowed Bananas to secure the win. Ryan came very close in the second round, but Bananas took advantage of his error.

Bananas and Tori's reactions during the elimination were highlights of the episode. Bananas was frustrated when he couldn't target Tori due to her immunity from the daily challenge, while Tori celebrated and made pointed remarks. Bananas shifted his focus to new targets—Michele, Olivia, and Nia Moore. The rivalry between Bananas and Tori added extra tension as their clash continued.

The Challenge: Key strategies and alliances

This episode also highlighted the ongoing strategic maneuvering between players. Jordan, aware of Bananas’ growing momentum, pulled aside Michele Fitzgerald and Olivia Kaiser to discuss the need to eliminate him sooner rather than later.

Michele and Olivia seemed to agree with Jordan’s assessment, setting the stage for future targeting of Bananas and his allies. Meanwhile, Tori’s win in the daily challenge gave her a significant amount of influence in deciding who to target.

At the bar, Rachel Robinson and Tori acknowledged their shared strength as competitors, hinting at the possibility of a future alliance. Tori, who felt empowered after losing two close allies in previous episodes, was determined to play a strategic game.

The interactions between Bananas, Tori, and the rest of the cast reflected the complex web of alliances that characterizes The Challenge.

The next episode of The Challenge: Battle of the Eras will air on October 31, at 8 pm ET on MTV.
