Fans of The Circle have been waiting for the new season since season 6 ended earlier this year. Season 7 of the show finally premiered on Netflix with its first four episodes on September 11. The show brings 11 contestants vying for the $100,000 prize money.
Four among these will be catfishes who will try to convince the other contestants of their fake identities. Episode 3 of the show saw the participants playing the game of Kray Pop, where they had to answer pop culture questions. The questions ranged from Elon Musk to Madonna, and some Gen Z terms.
The way they answered gave the other contestants clues about their identities. Thus they had to be really careful while answering per their The Circle character or they could be perceived as a catfish.
Debbie failed to answer like her catfish character, ie 26-year-old Rachel, which raised suspicion. Heather too failed to answer like her catfish character Andy which made Kevin question her identity.
The game of Kray Pop on episode 3 of The Circle season 7
The Circle narrator explained that in the episode 3 game of Kray Pop, the contestants would be asked a series of multiple-choice pop culture questions. The first question that was asked was about the tech giant, Elon Musk. The question was:
"Which celebrity named their child X Æ A-XII?"
Other options next to Elon Musk's were Gwenyth Paltrow and Jared Leto. While Savannah thought the name looked like a Math equation, Kevin thought Jared Leto was the funny guy from the late-night show. The Scarlotta Twins guessed it correctly and so did Jadejha who thought it was an obvious pick.
When the answers were revealed, everyone except Debbie disguised as Rachel was able to answer it correctly. Debbie said it was a question Rachel could've answered but Debbie was unable to. Her selection of Jared Leto raised many eyebrows and contestants thought only someone living under a rock could get it wrong.
Her answer to the second Kray Pop question on The Circle made the contestants even more suspicious of her identity. The question was:
"Which of these athletes have been in both the WWE and the UFC?"
The options were Hulk Hogan, Brock Lesnar, and The Rock. While Madelyn said The Rock was an actor, not an athlete, Savannah thought the one with "Hulk" in his name was likely to be stronger. The Scarlotta Twins said that they knew the answer was Brock Lesner, but because they were posing as Gianna they didn't want to select the correct answer.
So when the results came out, Madelynn and Savannah voted for Hulk Hogan, Andy, Darian, Garrett, Kevin, and Rachel voted for Brock Lesner, while Jadejha and Gianna went with The Rock. The only girl to guess correctly was Rachel, which surprised Kevin and Heather, and Jadejha and Heather thought of Rachel as an old man.
Debbie's explanation for this was that Rachel's older brothers were into WWE which is why she knew the correct answer. After the answers were out, Debbie thanked her son's love for WWE which made her select the correct answer. The third question was:
"Who of the following was Madonna romantically linked to?"
The options were Mick Jagger, George Clooney, and Sean Penn. Savannah didn't know who George Clooney was, while Madelyn thought he was a past president. Garret and Savannah correctly guessed Sean Penn, while the rest of the contestants went with Mick Jagger. This got Madelyn and Kevin grow suspicious of Andy who they thought should've known the correct answer.
The fourth question on the Kray Pop game of The Circle was:
"Which of these popular abbreviations is a compliment?"
The options were, HBIC, TL;DR, and NPC. Debbie, Kevin, Heather, and Darian had no idea what the full forms of these were. Garret knew every full form, he explained that HBIC meant Head B***h In Charge, TL;DR meant Too Long; Don't Read, and NPC meant Non-Player Character.
Andy, Darian, Garett, Gianna, Jadejha, and Savannah were the ones to guess the right option HBIC. Madelyn chose, TL;DR, while Rachel and Kevin went with NPC. This pointed more fingers towards Debbie. With this, the Kray pop quiz came to an end.
Episodes 5 to 8 of The Circle season 7 will be released on September 18, on Netflix.
