The Circle season 7 episode 5 recap: More about disruptor mode and 'Make Out, Marry, Murder' challenge
Madelyn and Rachel's disruptor mode
The Circle season 7 episode 5 started with the aftermath of the last episode. In episode 4, the contestants got the opportunity to take the disruptor mode, and this time, there were two disruptors.
Out of the four contestants who wanted the power, Madelyn and Rachel were crowned the disruptors. Both players had to switch their profiles and play as each other until the next elimination.
They would have to come up with a plan to maintain their previous personality and have the same style as their fellow alliance member if they wanted to avoid any suspicions. Madelyn and Rachel discussed their game plan with each other and decided to work as a team going forward.
Private chats
Madelyn had a private chat with Kevin using Rachel's profile. Rachel and Kevin were at odds with each other and Madelyn had an idea to mend things between the two.
Madelyn used Rachel's chat to tell Kevin that she misjudged him and that they needed to have a fresh start. Kevin thought that he was talking to Rachel and told her that he had also misjudged her and that he would like a fresh start on his side. As per Kevin's side, the two The Circle season 7 contestants metaphorically shook hands, putting a pause to their feud.
Elsewhere in the episode, Jadejha and Garret opened up about their past to each other. Garret told Jadejha about his "eating disorder," while she told him about her rough childhood and her story of being homeless and growing up in a group home.
Jadejha shared:
"I was homeless for a period of time before I went to a group home. I knew I couldn't go back to the different forms of abuse and violence I grew up around. #ButlmStillHere"
The two had a strong bond and got a friend after their quick chat.
Make Out, Marry, Murder challenge
The Circle season 7 episode 5 introduced a new challenge called "Make Out, Marry, Murder". The contestants had to pick one of their fellow contestants to place on their "Make out", "Marry", and "Murder" spots.
Andy shocked everyone with his pick. He chose to make out with Madelyn, marry Kevin, and murder Rachel. Madelyn chose Andy to marry and was a bit upset with him as he picked Kevin over her for the Marry section. Gianna was one of the popular pics in the game as most of the contestants chose her to "make out" with.
Gianna chose to make out with Andy, marry Darian, and murder Kevin. Gianna's strategy was to disrupt the boys' alliance and create some friction among the three. Kevin had a plan of his own and picked to make out with Madelyn, marry Rachel, and murder Gianna. He wanted to take his shot at Gianna's decision.
This challenge led to a wedding party and Darian had some explanation to do. Both Gianna and Jadejha picked Darian to marry and he was stuck in the middle. He saved himself and said that Jadejha was his number one. Episode 5 of The Circle season 7 ended on a cliffhanger and introduced a new profile named Tierra.
The Circle season 7 episodes 1-8 are available to stream on Netflix.
