The Golden Bachelorette, a spinoff show from The Bachelor, will premiere this fall. After the premiere, further episodes will be released every Wednesday at 8 pm EDT on ABC. Each episode will be 90 minutes long, 30 minutes longer than the first season of The Bachelor.
Earlier this year, in January, ABC announced a female-led show from Turner’s season, and now, finally, they have revealed the news. On May 14, 2024, the makers of the show confirmed that fan-favorite contestant Joan Vassos, from Gerry Turner’s season, will be the first Golden Bachelorette.
The Golden Bachelorette: Possible release schedule and more details
According to ABC’s official Instagram, The Golden Bachelorette will be released this fall. After the premiere, the remaining episodes are given the time slot for Wednesday at 8 pm EDT on ABC.
Fans can also stream new episodes on Hulu on the next day. However, ABC has not yet revealed any release date for The Golden Bachelorette.
The Bachelor franchise is from Warner Bros. It has gained immense popularity as an unscripted television show. Fans have been quite excited since ABC officially confirmed the spin-off show.
Since that announcement, everyone has been eager to know the lucky lady, who turned out to be Joan Vassos.
Who is The Golden Bachelorette?
Joan Vassos, 61, is a school administrator from Rockland, Maryland. She was married for 32 years, after which her husband died of cancer. Joan enjoys cooking, playing with her dog, and relaxing at the beach.
She has four children and two grandchildren. She is close to her family, and they are her priority.
ABC describes Vassos as,
"As she steps into the golden spotlight and begins her journey to seek love once more, Vassos envisions a future filled with shared moments by the beach and cherished time with family."
Joan Vessos in The Golden Bachelor earlier
Some fans might remember Joan Vassos from Gerry Turner’s season of The Golden Bachelor. She was one of the contestants on the show. From the start, she was a front-runner who also shared a connection with Gerry Turner. Especially after their one-on-one date, when Joan and Gerry discussed their significant others, and more.
However, it didn’t end well because Joan had to leave the show due to a medical emergency. Her daughter was struggling with postpartum depression back home. Unfortunately, she had to quit midseason.
It is noticeable that Gerry Turner and his wife, Theresa Nist, recently announced the finalization of their divorce. After Joan left the show, Gerry gave Theresa Nist the golden rose by the end of The Golden Bachelor, and they exchanged vows. However, their happiness was short-lived, as their marriage lasted three months.
Joan entered Bachelor Nation again through The Golden Bachelorette and has been confirmed by ABC as the first star. Additional shows from the franchise include The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, Bachelor in Paradise, and The Golden Bachelor. Warner Bros. Unscripted Television and Warner Horizon produce all these franchises.
The Golden Bachelorette will premiere this fall, and the following episodes will be released on Wednesdays at 8 pm EDT on ABC. The latest episodes can be streamed on Hulu the next day.
