The first season of the coveted Bachelor franchise, The Golden Bachelorette has come to an end with part 2 of its finale episode 9 released on November 13. Joan Vassos, The Golden Bachelorette of the season, picked Chock to be her happily ever after, giving him the final rose.

In the finale episode, before Joan announced her big decision, the finalists, Chock and Guy were supposed to meet her family. Chock met Joan's family, but before Guy had a chance, Joan told him her true feelings, sparing him from meeting them.

Out of the 24 contestants who came onto The Golden Bachelorette to vie for Joan's heart, Chock received two roses throughout the season, while Guy received one. Her inclination toward Chock was palpable so when she chose him, the fans cheered them. Episode 9 ended with Chock going down on one knee to propose to Joan and her saying yes, after which, he accepted her final rose.

Chock's meeting with Joan's family, her choosing him, and their engagement on The Golden Bachelorette episode 9

The last episode of The Golden Bachelorette kicked off with Chock meeting Joan's sons. Her connection to him was apparent here because she broke down in tears while talking to her sons about her connection with him. While there, Chock said,

"I’m not here to replace your dad … I’m just here to have a great life with your mom".

Joan's sons approved of Chock, while one even told her he was proud of her for taking the courageous step; referring to Joan's decision to find a partner after her former husband's passing. He also praised her and said she had "incredible strength," and that it was evident she was happy.

Right after the family meeting, Chock and Joan spent some time together, where he gifted her a lock and key and told her wanted to find a home with her in New York City. He told her he loved her, but she didn’t say it back, which worried him. In his confessional, he admitted he was afraid of losing her.

Joan wasn't so sure of her inclination toward Chock until she woke up the next day thinking of him. As soon as she made up her mind, she went and told Guy about it, right before his turn to see her family. She told him she didn't want him to meet them because:

"My heart belongs to somebody else."

Guy sobbed at the rejection because he said he had fallen for her and was prepared to propose to her. As soon as Guy left though, only Chock remained. He told her that she was the most "giving, selfless woman" he had ever met in life.

He honored her late husband by saying that he would proceed in their relationship keeping him in mind. He again professed his love for her and expressed disbelief over her selection of him. Joan finally told Chock the words he had been waiting to hear.

"I waited til this moment in this amazing location to tell you that I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I want to wake up next to you in the morning and I want to kiss you before I go to bed at night".

Just as she said this, Chock got down on one knee and asked her if she would marry him and she said yes.
