The Golden Bachelorette, a spin-off of the very famous American reality TV show, The Bachelorette is set to kick off small screen on September 18, 2024, on ABC. The show will feature Joan Vassos, who is a former cast member of The Golden Bachelor featuring Gerry Turner. She left the show in between to be with her pregnant daughter.
Joan Vassos is giving love another chance on The Golden Bachelorette, where 24 men will compete for her love and validation. The male cast list was shared on Instagram on August 13, 2024. A sneak peek of the premiere, released on September 4, 2024, shows Kelsey Anderson, the winner of The Bachelor Season 28, introducing her dad, Mark Anderson, to Joan, who was pleasantly surprised.
The audience will get to see what cooks up between the two during this debut season of The Golden Bachelorette, premiering on September 18

Joan Vassos, a 61-year-old private school administrator is a proud mother and a grandmother from Rockland, Maryland, and was married for 32 years. Her husband John, passed away in 2021 due to pancreatic cancer. She has gathered her courage to date again but she claims that she is very picky when it comes to men.
In an interview with the People on July 2, 2024, said:
“I’m very picky about a man being a gentleman, somebody with a big heart, somebody who is generous and also somebody who’s humble.”
The channel took to Instagram @thgoldenbachelorette and posted a sneak peek of the premiere of The Golden Bachelorette ahead of it to amp up the curiosity of fans. In the trailer, Kelsey Anderson greeted Joan and said that she wanted her to meet Mark Anderson. Mark and Joan seemed elated to meet each other.
Kelsey, Mark’s daughter who won The Bachelor season 28 featuring Joey Graziadei, and mentioned how excited she was to be at the Bachelor mansion. She said:
“It wasn’t that long ago, you know, that I was coming out of this Limo, walking upto Joey. It is so surreal to be here.”
Kelsey and Joey got engaged in the show and are still together. Mark, who was brought during The Bachelor many times as 'Kelsey's Hot dad', is a 52-year-old Army veteran who wanted to explore modern ways of dating as old ways are not applicable in these times, he told in an interview with Star Tribune in April. After Kelsey's mother Denise passed away due to Breast Cancer in 2018, she wanted her father to give her a chance at companionship again.
She revealed on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast in June.
"I want my dad to get out there. I want my dad to date. I think that my mom really would want him to. My mom, before she passed, always said, ‘I want you to find somebody else. I want you to find another love.’ Before she even was sick she would always say this. She just knew that she was going to pass before him.
