The Golden Bachelorette: Elimination details

In this week's episode of The Golden Bachelorette, Keith, 62, from San Jose, California, and Jonathan, 61, from Oakland, Iowa, were sent home. Joan decided not to offer them roses after a series of emotional one-on-one and group dates.

Keith, who had impressed Joan on a helicopter date, failed to make a lasting connection. Likewise, Jonathan, who had hoped to make a stronger impression, was ultimately not chosen.

Keith and Jonathan's departures mark a significant moment, as both had been seen as potential frontrunners earlier in the season.

Joan’s tough decisions

Episode 5 of The Golden Bachelorette kicked off with Joan facing a tough decision about who would accompany her on hometown visits. With only four men able to continue.

In an unexpected twist on The Golden Bachelorette, one of the suitors, Pascal, made an unplanned appearance in nothing but his tighty-whities, adding a lighthearted moment to an otherwise tense episode.

Joan’s first one-on-one date was with Keith, who joined her for a helicopter ride to the Babcock Winery in Lompoc, California. Keith opened up about his difficult past, sharing that he had been forced to take on a protective role for his daughters following his wife’s rehabilitation.

Joan expressed admiration for Keith’s strength, acknowledging that he had shown great depth. However, despite the emotional conversation, Joan ultimately decided that she didn’t feel a strong enough connection to keep Keith in the competition.

Later in the episode, Joan goes on a group date with Guy, Jordan, Jonathan, Pascal, and Chock. The group spent the day bowling, with Pascal feeling uncomfortable in his bowling attire, lamenting that it wasn’t up to his usual “Prada” standards.

At the bowling alley, tensions arose as Chock took center stage, monopolizing Joan’s attention, which irritated some of the other men. Despite the light-hearted setting, the evening was filled with emotional conversations as the men tried to secure their place in the competition.

Joan’s future and upcoming hometowns

In the second one-on-one date of the episode, Joan spent time alone with Mark, who had been waiting for his chance. They shared an intimate boat ride, but Joan later admitted that there was no “easy flow” between them.

Despite Mark’s heartfelt story about his late wife, Joan confessed that something was “missing” in their connection. Ultimately, she decided to let Mark go before the rose ceremony, expressing sadness but remaining confident in her decision.

At the rose ceremony, Joan handed out roses to Pascal, Chock, Guy, and Jordan, solidifying their places in the top four. These men will now move on to the pivotal hometown visits, where Joan will meet their families in an important step towards finding her true love.

Fans of The Golden Bachelorette will have to wait and see how these hometown dates unfold and which man will ultimately win Joan’s heart.

The Golden Bachelorette airs Wednesdays at 8 pm ET on ABC, with the next episode set to feature emotional family meetings and more eliminations as Joan narrows down her choices in her journey for love.
