In episode 6 of The Golden Bachelorette, Joan Vassos visited the families of the final four men: Guy, Pascal, Jordan, and Chock. The hometown dates were a turning point, leaving Joan confused after meeting each family, and leading to a difficult elimination decision.

By the end of the episode, it was Jordan who was sent home, narrowing the field to three remaining contenders. The theme of this week’s episode of The Golden Bachelorette was family visits and emotional vulnerability, which left Joan feeling more uncertain than ever about her choices.

How the elimination happened: The Golden Bachelorette

After visiting four different hometowns in The Golden Bachelorette, Joan struggled to decide on the rose ceremony. Two of the suitors, Guy and Chock, were emotionally open and ready for a commitment, while Pascal and Jordan were more reserved.

Joan shared her worries, expressing that Jordan’s hesitance made her question their future together. She admitted she felt conflicted but ultimately decided to eliminate Jordan, stating,

"Tonight, I’m going to hand out three roses, and I don’t know what to do."

Despite her fondness for Jordan, his lack of emotional commitment led to his elimination. As Joan walked him out, they exchanged a friendly farewell, with Jordan offering his well wishes: “I wish you nothing but happiness” before leaving The Golden Bachelorette.

Joan's visit to Guy’s family in Lake Tahoe

The first stop on Joan's hometown tour was Lake Tahoe, Nevada, where she met Guy’s large family, including his siblings, children, and grandchildren.

Guy expressed that while he has strong feelings for Joan, he’s been cautious about opening up. He told her, “The prize at the end is worth taking any risk for,” although he admitted to guarding his heart.

Joan connected with his family, especially his daughter MacKenzie, who encouraged her father to keep pursuing love. His siblings also approved of Joan, with Gayle saying, "We'd love to have her in our family." By the end of the visit, Guy told his family he was ready to propose, which surprised Joan as she reflected on how quickly his feelings had grown.

Pascal’s hometown in Chicago

Joan’s visit to Pascal’s hometown in Chicago began with a trip to his beauty salon, where she was warmly welcomed by the staff. Pascal, known for his lively and fun personality, reminded Joan of her late husband, John.

Despite their chemistry, Joan was uncertain about Pascal’s emotional openness. His past relationship had left him guarded, and Joan worried that he wasn’t ready for a deeper connection.

Conversations with Pascal’s children, Maxim and Natalie, provided Joan with some reassurance. Pascal’s daughter remarked, “You two are the hottest couple,” and encouraged Joan to give her father more time. However, Joan left the date still unsure about whether Pascal was ready for a commitment.

In Chicago, Joan visited Jordan’s family, including his daughters and brothers. The date began with a lighthearted trip for deep-dish pizza and rainbow cake. Despite the fun, Joan admitted that her relationship with Jordan wasn’t as far along as with the other men.

Jordan’s family shared stories of his divorce, explaining that he had been hesitant to date seriously for a decade. His daughter, Ali, urged him to open up more, but Jordan still held back.

Though he acknowledged that meeting his family was a big step, Joan felt uncertain about his emotional readiness. After leaving Chicago, Joan asked herself, “Do I take a leap of faith with Jordan?” but ultimately decided that his reluctance was a sign they were not meant to be.

Chock’s hometown visit to Wichita

The final hometown visit on The Golden Bachelorette was in Wichita, Kansas, where Joan met Chock’s father, stepmother, children, and extended family. The visit was emotionally charged as Chock’s family planted an oak tree in memory of his late mother.

Chock shared memories of his mother and expressed his strong feelings for Joan, saying, "I'm falling in love with you." His father, Jay, also supported their connection, saying, "I think you are in love." Joan appreciated Chock's openness and, despite feeling some guilt over moving on from her late husband, felt more confident in Chock's feelings for her.

The next step for Joan and her final three suitors will be the Fantasy Suites, where emotional and romantic connections are expected to deepen further.

The Golden Bachelorette airs on Wednesdays at 8 pm ET/PT on ABC.
