The Great American Recipe season 3: Release date, what to expect, and more

PBS' hit culinary show The Great American Recipe is scheduled to return for its highly-awaited third season this summer on June 17, 2024. Set to air through August 12, 2024, viewers can enjoy new episodes at 9 pm ET every Monday on PBS.

The show will feature culinary creativity as eight new home cooks from across America compete against each other in unique challenges. Each week, the contestants will battle it out in two challenges, after which the judges will determine who cooked the winning dish.

In the final week of the show, the top three contestants will compete for a chance to win this year’s competition.

What to expect from season 3

The upcoming season of The Great American Recipe will showcase America's diverse culture through a plethora of dishes by eight new home cooks. The contestants will prepare traditional favorites passed on from generations and also create new dishes along the way as they hope to impress the judges.

Designed to celebrate the nation's diverse cuisines, the competition will help each home cook showcase their unique style in front of the judges and nurture their skills. Viewers can expect to witness delicious dishes, fierce competition, and some heartwarming stories when season 3 premieres on June 17.

In a PBS press release, VPM Chief Content Officer Steve Humble shed light on what fans can expect from the upcoming installment and said:

"Season 3 of THE GREAT AMERICAN RECIPE will introduce audiences to several new faces and provide some fun, unexpected twists. With community, tradition and culinary diversity at the heart of the show, the new season remains faithful to these ideas while highlighting new cuisines and experiences."

The upcoming season is filmed at a new location, Green Door Gourmet, an on-farm market. It is a 350-acre farm, which is considered the agritourism destination in Nashville, Tennessee.

Host and cast members of The Great American Recipe season 3

Alejandra Ramos will return to host this season and viewers will be introduced to judges, Tim Hollingsworth, an award-winning chef, and Los Angeles restaurateur, and Francis Lam, the host of public radio’s The Splendid Table. Hollingsworth and Lam will join the returning judge, Tiffany Derry to inspire and guide the contestants this season.
