Let us have a look at key takeaways from the trailer of The Great British Baking Show, and what the audience can expect from this baking series.

3 major insights to look for in the trailer of the upcoming series The Great British Baking Show

1) Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood are back as the judges

The trailer for The Great British Baking Show unveiled that Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith are back to scrutinize the home bakers. The trailer showed the judges tasting the dishes baked by the 12 contestants of this season, and passing on their judgments. Paul Hollywood stated in the trailer that he could be a little harsh while judging the dishes as this is a competition.

Andy, a car mechanic from Essex, jokingly remarked after Paul's comment:

"Paul don’t like one of my bakes, I’m gonna jack up his car, take off his wheels, make a few quid."

Prue Leith, on the other hand, seemed impressed by the bakes made by the contestants and said that was the most interesting cake she had ever eaten.

2) Amateur bakers will give it all to win the baking battle

The class of 2024 on The Great British Baking Show has a diverse cast list of bakers who might be home bakers but come from a professional background, such as pediatric nurses, university lecturers, palliative care assistants, and so on. The trailer showed the contestants talking about their experience of being on the show. They all seemed nervous and excited but ready to battle out their baking skills with full force.

Sumayah, who is a 19-year-old Dentistry student, told the cameras in the trailer:

"The last time I felt this nervous… Either before my A-level results, or when I was in the queue to get tickets for the Taylor Swift concert."

Another baker, Jeff, a 67-year-old former university lecturer, appeared confident and said:

"And you know the old adage, "It doesn’t matter if you win or lose, as long as you win."

With this sweet banter and headstrong competition where the lowest scorer will get eliminated each week, audiences will get to witness a full ride.

3) Supporting co-hosts Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding are back

As the trailer announced, co-hosts Alison and Noel are back to boost the confidence of the bakers and give the competition a bit of comic relief. Netflix announced the judges and host of the show on September 19, and the announcement reads:

"The tent will welcome back bread emperor Paul Hollywood, as well as flavor whisperer Prue Leith. Comedian and actor Noel Fielding and TV presenter Alison Hammond join once again as co-hosts."

Since the 14th series, which premiered on September 26, 2023, Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding have been serving as co-hosts of The Great British Baking Show. Hammond took over the role from Matt Lucas, who co-hosted for three series.

The Great British Baking Show Collection 12 will premiere on Netflix on September 27, 2024.
