Nate and Lisa go on a date on The Later Daters
Nate’s date with Lisa focused on their shared experiences and personal histories. Lisa, a 56-year-old esthetician, shared that she had been divorced for two years following a 33-year marriage. Nate, who has been divorced for a decade, discussed his daughter’s challenges with becoming independent.
"She had a hard time, but I told her she needed to figure it out because kids can’t live with their parents forever," Nate explained.
In response, Lisa shared that her children still live with her. "I think I’m too soft," she admitted. Nate remarked in a confessional:
"It’s a red flag that her grown children are living with her, but since she wants them to be independent, it’s more of a yellow flag for me."
The conversation took a turn when Lisa asked about Nate’s profession. He revealed his background in federal security and military intelligence and shared details about a combat-related injury.
"We had a bad night on a combat-equipped jump. A lot of people got hurt, and I was one of them. I cracked a couple of vertebrae in my back and messed up my knee," Nate said.
Lisa expressed her interest in his story, and the date concluded well. Before parting, Lisa suggested, "Can we take some selfies?" They took selfies, signaling mutual interest and the potential for further connection on The Later Daters.
Anise and Bill reflect on interracial dating and compatibility on The Later Daters
The duo's conversation in this episode of The Later Daters began with Anise asking Bill about his thoughts on going on a blind date with a Black woman. Bill responded:
"So I only date Black women. My kids are biracial obviously. Yeah, I think Black women have a higher level of energy and passion."
This led them to share their past dating experiences. Anise revealed that her first experience with interracial interest happened when she was 15, admitting she was surprised when a boy she flirted with reciprocated her interest. However, she also noted she had never been in a serious interracial relationship.
Bill reflected on their date in a confessional, saying:
"In a lot of areas, we align completely, in terms of passion and energy for life. But the fact that Anise hasn’t dated interracially, that’s a red flag for me."
Meanwhile, Anise found the evening delightful. She complimented Bill on his accent and mentioned how much she enjoyed the wine and his company. She told him, "I had a wonderful time." Despite Anise’s positive experience, Bill felt there was no romantic spark, concluding that while things worked well on paper, the connection did not meet his expectations.
