The Masked Singer season 12: Complete list of clues about celebrity identities so far, explored  

The Masked Singer season 12 aired exclusively on FOX on September 12, 2024, introducing the concealed identities of the new participants. As fans already know, in this reality TV singing competition series, celebrity guests appear in costumes and compete in each round. A panel of judges has to guess who the contestant behind the mask is.

In season 12, hosted by Nick Cannon, includes judges Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, and Rita Ora, who will guess who they think is under the costumes of Buffalo, Woodpecker, Showbird, Leaf Sheep, and Ship. The clue packages will help them make the right guess.

The Masked Singer season 12 clue packages

1) Buffalo

Buffalo shared that he has appeared in popular sitcoms and likes to travel the world. He advised the audience to do as they please rather than worrying about what people might find "cringe."

He continued by stating that, "Don't let anyone tell you who you want to be." Season 5 winner Nick Lachey was The Masked Ambassador for this masked contestant and wished Buffalo the best before his performance. Lachey said:

"Buffalo, you really are a national treasure and always the center of attention at my epic Super Bowl parties. I just have no doubt you’re going to stand out from the herd this season.”

2) Woodpecker

The Masked Singer participant shared her wish to become the "youngest billionaire." For her clue package, pictures of an SAT answer sheet, Beyoncé's photo, and a "family" sign were shown.

Season 11 winner Jenifer Lewis was revealed to be this performer's Masked Ambassador and rooted for Woodpecker in the singing competition series. She revealed that Woodpecker is friends with Beyoncé and added:

"She’s been called a mogul, a chic CEO, and she even became friends with Beyoncé. This bird is a baddie… I believe in you 100 percent."

3) Showbird

The Masked Singer's former guest judge Joel McHale introduced Showbird as his friend. For her first clue package, Showbird revealed that she had been singing for two decades until she took a break for a while.

Her clue package included a book called Advanced Singing 401, multiple costumes, and boots filled with glitter. Being on The Masked Singer was an opportunity to re-introduce herself as a talented singer and she further said:

"I was a total tomboy growing up and a total nerd — Lego, Comic Con, the works. I thought I’d keep things a little more humble, low-key, modest."

Showbird was revealed as Yvette Nicole Brown in episode 2.

4) Ship

The Masked Singer participant Ship revealed her clues to the audience, which included pictures of Whoopi Goldberg, Kevin Bacon, and Melissa Etheridge inside a high school locker. The clue package also consisted of a wanted poster of the masked performer worth $15,000. Additionally, her ambassador was revealed to be season 6 winner, Jewel.

Ship shared that music was therapy for her and helped her channel her emotions. While reflecting on the journey of her career, Ship shared in her first clue package:

"I know how quickly the tides can change from angry to serene on a dime, and my life has been the same. My career set sail at a rapid clip. I had massive hits, made history, but I lost control."

5) Leaf Sheep

Season 11 participant DeMarcus Ware, who appeared as Koala, is the masked ambassador for Leaf Sheap. Ware said that Leaf Sheep was the GOAT and encouraged him that his "glory days" were to continue by being on the FOX show.

Leaf Sheep's clue package included a seahorse with a cowboy hat and a guitar with the number "#1" mentioned on it. Hinting at his successful musical career, Leaf Sheep disclosed:

"I made a total splash, scored headlines, topped the country's charts, and even revived a franchise. Now I’m here to keep the good times rolling."

It was revealed that John Elway was behind the Leaf Sheep mask in episode 1.
