What happened on The Mole season 2 episode 10? Finale recap
The Mole season 2 episode 10, titled Who Is The Mole, was quite exciting for everyone. The episode started with each finalist sharing their background and what winning the game show meant to them. The finalists were Muna, Sean, and Michael.
Muna shared her story about coming from a family of refugees. The parking manager, Michael, shared his story of wanting to pay off his student loans and help his father.
Sean, a stay-at-home-dad, revealed:
"For me, being a stay-at-home dad, all gloves are off at this point. I gotta do anything I gotta do to provide and alleviate financial stress for my family. But I want to show my boys and my wife, like, yo, I did this. I’m literally this close to potentially winning this while entire game."
Finale task of The Mole season 2
Soon, the contestants reached the location for their final task, and Ari welcomed them. He described the ending of the show and the importance of the task. He said:
"Our journey through Malaysia is coming to an end in George Town. Tonight, the players will face the final quiz, a quiz with no margin for error. It’s time to decide, once and for all, who is the Mole."
He further added:
"But first, one final mission. One last chance to test suspicions. And as our players are about to discover, treading the right path in this game can be a minefield."
The mission was to complete three zones, where players had to cross a grid of mines safely. They would be given a map showing where to step, but it would only be visible for 20 seconds.
Ari described the task:
"As you travel down the road, the three zones will increase in difficulty. But the prize on offer will also increase. Ten thousand in the first one, 15,000 in the second, and the third is worth $25,000. So if you collect all three crates, your prize pot will grow by $50,000, meaning one of you could take home a staggering $179,000."
The finalists had 30 minutes for the task. They decided that Sean would go through the first zone, Michael would handle the second zone, and Muna would take on the final third zone, as she could memorize the correct path.
Sean misunderstood the last step of zone one, which resulted in no money win. Muna was quite angry about it, describing it as “the most mole-like activity” by Sean.
While Muna and Sean asked Michael to go left on the last step for the second zone, he went right. He thought it was right, so he didn’t listen to anyone, resulting in a failed mission. Michael was wrong, and no money was added to the pot.
Muna, who had memorized the entire path, was eager to see who had suggested the wrong path. This would help her figure out who the Mole was, as Michael and Sean failed in their zones. Finally, when Sean suggested a wrong move on the path, Muna immediately figured out that Sean was the Mole.
Muna successfully completed her zone, adding $25,000 to the prize pot and bringing the total to $1,54,000. The winner would be decided based on the final quiz, where all three would be asked to answer 20 questions per the game's format.
The Mole season 2 finale night
The three finalists, Muna, Sean, and Michael, took the quiz on the Mole’s identity for one last time. The winner would be determined based on their correct answers. As usual, the quiz featured 20 questions related to the Mole. The eliminated contestants also returned for the big night, eagerly reuniting and celebrating.
When Ari asked “The Mole” to reveal themselves and take a step forward, Sean took a step forward. Everyone was shocked after knowing about Sean.
Before Ari announced the winner, he said that it was "very, very close." The difference was two answers between Michael and Muna. With two more correct answers, Michael won The Mole season 2 title.
Michael in confessional:
"I'm just speechless. I just won The Mole, Season 2. $1,54,000. I cannot believe it."
Ari then asked everyone to sit down and discuss Sean's performance as “The Mole.” A video was played showing Sean carrying out suspicious activities throughout the second season. His mission was to sabotage all possible tasks. He also shared that, being an LA native, he loved heights, which he had lied about during the Tower heist task.
