The Mole season 2 premiered on Friday, June 28, 2024. The show saw a brand new cast consisting of people from different walks of life making their way to Singapore, where they took part in multiple challenges to earn money, and one contestant tried their best to keep their saboteur identity hidden.

The show started with 12 contestants, which were reduced to 9 by episode 5. However, the segment saw another elimination, which resulted in Antonio "Tony" Castellanos leaving the show. The cast then competed in another challenge that took place at a container yard in Port Klang, during which the cast managed to raise the prize fund to $49,500.

Ahead of the upcoming quiz, the cast participated in an auction during which they could win three possible advantages as long as they were willing to bid out of the money they had managed to raise so far. While the cast was prepared to lose out on some money, they were shocked to find out one of them had bid the entire cash prize to win an exemption.

The Mole season 2 episode 5 revealed the group's top three suspects

In The Mole season 2 episode 5, titled Special Delivery, the cast made their way to Port Klang after Tony's elimination from the game. On their way, the Netflix cast discussed the contestant's departure, and Neesh credited Tony's removal as part of Hannah's strategy.

"I think Hannah's one of the biggest reasons Tony's gone. She definitely played a hand in manipulating him. We saw it at the countdown, and getting that exemption from him. She's not really a good team player," he added.

He further questioned her gameplay and said she hadn't contributed much. Neesh, however, was unsure whether her behavior was "Mole-like" or if Hannah was trying to draw suspicion on herself.

The cast was greeted by the host, Ari Shapiro, at the container yard, who explained the task to them. He said there were 20 containers hidden in the yard that had cashboxes, with a total of $50,000 in prize money. The Mole season 2 contestants had to identify the containers, recover the boxes, and load them onto one of three trucks.

"So, how do you know which truck to choose? Well, that's where this mission gets interesting. Every quiz ends with the same question. Who do you think is the Mole? To bank the 50K, load the boxes onto the truck, which according to the last quiz, belongs to the group's top suspect," the host explained.

The names in front of the trucks included Muna, Michael, and Sean, which meant that a majority of people thought they were the season 2 mole. The group strategized and decided to divide the money between Michael and Muna's boxes since a majority didn't think Sean could be the saboteur.

The logic was that if the cast was truthful about who they believed the mole was, they would be able to earn the most amount of money; however, some players kept their true suspects hidden as they didn't want to reveal all their cards just yet. At the end of the challenge, it was revealed that although the cast claimed Muna was their top suspect, it was Michael.

The cast earned an additional $19,500 during the task, which brought the prize fund up to $49,500. The Mole season 2 cast member Muna was upset that the cast took a "huge risk" by adding so much money to her truck, especially when they didn't have a lot to begin with.

The Mole season 2 contestants then participated in an auction that could win the cast members three possible advantages, i.e., information, correction, or an exemption. The host explained that each player could only bid once, and if no bids were made per item, they would add $5,000 per item to the pot.

Since the cast members didn't bid on information and correction, the pot increased to $59,500; however, they were all eligible to bid for exemption. When the bids were made, Ari revealed that the highest bid was $59,500, reducing the prize fund to zero.

The segment ended on a cliffhanger. Tune in next week on Friday, July 5, 2024, to see who bids the entire pot to be safe for another round when new episodes of The Mole season 2 air on Netflix.
