The Mole season 2 episode 9: Recap and more details explored

The Mole season 2 featured shocking plot twists as each cast member tried to find out who was sabotaging their efforts. Previously, in episode 8, Hannah was given the option to either save herself and choose the exemption or add money to the pot.

To the viewer's surprise, Hannah wasn't afraid of getting eliminated and proved she didn't have an individualistic approach to the game. On episode 9, two cast members went home, and the remaining four participants were given a final team challenge.

In the last task, the four cast members could take a closer look at their suspects and also add more money to the pot. At the end of the episode, one more contestant was eliminated from the show, leaving the final three participants to head to the finale.

What happened on The Mole season 2 episode 9?

The Mole season 2 episode 9 started off with Ari revealing the two contestants who were going home. Both Ryan and Deanna were eliminated, shocking the rest since the two were strong contenders, especially the latter, who had proven multiple times that she wanted to work as a team and add money to the pot.

This left Muna, Michael, Sean, and Hannah as the final four cast members. They were given the final task of figuring out who the mole was. For the challenge, Michael offered to be the one elevating from the pully. Sean, Hannah, and Muna decided they would handle the ropes for the levitating task.

The task was to help Michael levitate and avoid the laser light without knocking over the ancient artifacts. Unfortunately, the team was unable to do so, and they lost the challenge by losing money from the pot. Hannah claimed Sean was pulling the wrong ropes, and Muna pretended to not know how the game worked.

Meanwhile, Sean blamed Hannah and Muna for their seemingly strategized incompetence in the game. Hannah was also suspicious of Michael when he broke the vase twice, as she thought that act was intentional.

Michael already had Sean at the top of his list. In the previous challenges, he had seen Sean sabotage the plans but kept that information to himself. His plan was to control the game by keeping an eye on everyone, especially Sean.

When it was time for all four cast members to vote for who they thought was the mole, Hannah's predictions were incorrect, hence she was sent home. Muna, Sean, and Michael advanced to the finale. Before exiting, Hannah said:

"The Mole beat me. They beat me. Even if I guessed correctly, I didn't know enough information about them. You know, it sucks but I'm actually very proud of myself and the game that I played. I'm just so happy that I gave it my all. I'm just really devastated. I still have no idea who the mole is."
