The Mole season 2 made it to Netflix on Friday, June 28. It saw its very first and thrill-filled challenge in episode 1. It was an intruder challenge that had the contestants fighting with all they had to shoot the intruders out of the game with paintball weapons.

The intruders had to pass through an obstacle course divided into 3 zones with slingshots, snipers, and guns. The players had to stop them from crossing it with the weapons provided. If any of the intruders succeeded in crossing it, one of the 12 players would be replaced. Under Neesh's leadership, the contestants were able to shoot all five intruders and secure $20,000 for the first prize pot of the season.

Details on the Intruder task from episode 1 of The Mole season 2

After the 12 contestants of The Mole were introduced to each other, Ari Shapiro, the host, explained the rules. He presented 5 intruders and said that those would have to make it through a three-zoned obstacle course in the field to get into one of the three cars waiting at the end of the course.

The intruders were the players who had missed out on getting into the game and would do anything to secure a place as a contestant. The first intruder to get to the car would secure a place in the game, replacing the contestant who would be chosen as the team lead.

The Mole contestants' job was to stop the intruders from finishing the obstacle course and getting into the car by using paintball guns, which were positioned at strategic locations. All they had to do was hit the intruders directly to stop them from running. If the players successfully stopped all five intruders from getting into the car, they would add $20,000 to their prize pot.

Because none of the players volunteered to become the leader, Ari said he would give them 5 minutes. If they could pick a leader in those 5 minutes, they would have another $10,000 in the prize pot.

The majority of contestants on The Mole voted for Neesh, so he had to become the team leader. Ari then explained to him that the intruders were shackled and they would free themselves in approximately 8-10 minutes by cracking a 4-letter code. This meant Neesh could use this time to position his teammates at the right places on the course.

Zone 1 was the slingshot one, and they needed someone who could reload fast. Q and Sean were in charge of slingshots, with Muna and Hannah as their respective reload partners.

Zone 2 was the tower. The intruders had to climb it to retrieve the car key on top. To prevent them, a strategically positioned paintball sniper was on a shaky platform, and a team needed to stabilize the platform for the shooter. Andy volunteered to be the shooter because of his experience with archery, and Tony, Michael, and Melissa held his platform.

Zone 3 was the final defense. Three paintball guns covered a huge area where the intruders would make their final run to the car. The catch was that each gun only had 10 bullets. Neesh appointed himself, Jen, and Ryan to take up each of the three guns. All five intruders passed through the slingshot zone unharmed. They were given shields and smoke bombs for their tower run, making things even more difficult for sniper Andy, but he successfully shot one intruder.

The remaining 4 moved to zone 3. Ryan got one, Jenn got another, and Neesh got one more. Ryan had one bullet left, which she successfully shot at the last intruder, winning the $20,000 prize pot and keeping Neesh in The Mole.

The Mole season 2 episodes 6-8 will be released on Friday, July 7, on Netflix.
