The Mole season 2 released the first batch of 5 episodes on June 28, premiering on Netflix. The show has gone through 4 eliminations so far, including Tony, who was eliminated in episode 5. The elimination works in a simple manner, whoever answers the least number of correct questions related to 'the mole', goes back home.

Tony and Hannah formed a romantic bond during the show and were playing quite like a team till episode 4 when Hannah decided to play her game. As she mentions during the confessional:

"The winner is only one, so it's not going to be Tony and me. It's going to be Tony or me"

The contestants have already started having trust issues as they are not sure who the mole is, and everyone believes that everyone is lying.

In the show, information is the power and nobody wants to share anything they know, that others don't, especially after Tony's elimination. The cast had the impression that Tony went home because he trusted Hannah too much from day 1.

The Mole season 2 episode 5 elimination

Episode 5 started with the cast taking the infamous mole quiz, where Tony, who least expected it, got eliminated. Tony seemed confident during the elimination in episode 5. Hannah and he were working like a team, which meant extra information about the hidden spy.

The shockwave on Tony's face was evident when his screen turned 'red' and Hannah's was green. Before checking his screen, Tony can be seen emphasizing the fact that he won't be going home and is one day closer to winning. He said:

"Hannah's screen just went green. Me and her are obviously, like, talking. We kind of see eye to eye on who we think it is. So I'm confident. We're just one day closer to me winning."

The cast seemed shocked as well. While leaving, Tony said to Ari, the host of the show, that he thought he had it. The cast members were skeptical of Hannah. Tony regretted trusting Hannah so much, as he felt he got blindsighted in the end. Ryan went straight to question Hannah after Tony's elimination. She asked:

"Are you stunned 'cause it's him or 'cause you knew something?"

Neesh had a trust issue with the couple since day 1, when Tony and Hannah sat till almost the pot prize went to $9,000, for exemption. Tony stood up and gave the exemption to Hannah. While going for the mission during episode 5, Sean asks his fellow castmates in the car (Hannah, Neesh, and Deanna) about how they feel after Tony's elimination.

Hannah said he was the only person she trusted 100% on the show, to which Neesh nodded sarcastically. In a confessional Neesh said:

"I think Hannha is one of the biggest reasons Tony is gone. She definitely played a hand in manipulating him, we saw that at the countdown, and getting exemption from him. She is not really a good team player."

Michael on the other hand seemed quite supportive of Hannah and consoled her after Tony's elimination. He believed at the end of the day, it is an individual game and we cannot help what others do.

Hannah seemingly appeared guilty, as she knew she did not share the extra information she had, and that might be the reason why Tony is no more in the game. But she focused on winning the game and that meant being emotionless and trusting no one but oneself.

The Mole episode 5 ended with another rollercoaster, an auction. The episode ends with $0 in the prize pot and someone with an exemption. The cast seemed furious, while the next batch of episodes will reveal who got it.

The Mole is premiering only on Netflix. The next batch of episodes will be released on July 5, 2024.
