The Mole season 2 aired on Netflix on Friday, June 28, 2024. The game show started with 12 players who went through various challenges. Amongst them was one fraud known as The Mole. With each elimination challenge, participants were sent home.
The third episode started with the previous episode’s challenge, with two participants, Tony and Hannah, left in the task. Later, Andy was eliminated, and the game continued with follow-up challenges and an elimination round. However, the result of the next elimination challenge was not declared.
The official synopsis for The Mole season 2 episode 3 reads:
"A romantic alliance puts the group on high alert. The game reaches new heights as two players rappel down a building to pull off a daring heist."
The Mole season 2 episode 3: Andy went home
Episode 3, Money Tower, started with an ongoing task from the second episode. Hannah asked Tony to stand up, as they were the last two people sitting. The last person sitting would get the exemption. The more they waited, the more money was deducted from the prize pot.
With Tony having a crush on Hannah, he gave up while the screen was at $9,870 on the screen. As a result of the exemption, Hannah was directly upped to the next round without participating in the elimination challenge.
The Mole episode 3: Elimination
Ari invited the remaining players to take their place, and he made the pot prize a round figure—$10,000. Next was an elimination quiz containing 20 questions about the Mole’s identity and actions. The player with the least correct answers will be eliminated from The Mole season 2.
After all the contestants filled out the questionnaire, Ari announced the eliminated player, Andy. As a result, Andy went home in episode 3. While leaving the show, Andy shared in the confessional:
"Enjoy each moment because you just never now when it’s gonna end."
The Mole season 2 next day: New mission
Players rode in two cars while traveling to the next challenge location. They received a text from Ari stating that there would be two teams. Players who chose to sit in the same car will be considered as a team, so according to the vehicle they decided, the teams were:
- Car 1: Hannah, Tony, Sean, Michael, Quaylyn
- Car 2: Melissa, Deanna, Muna, Neesh, Ryan
The text also instructed the teams to choose one volunteer who could perform the best under pressure. Participants from Car 1 chose Sean, while players from Car 2 chose Melissa. Ari welcomes everyone in the parking lot. He explains the next challenge:
"Somewhere above us, two units have valuable jewellery hidden in a safe. Lucky you, the occupants are out of town, which means both teams have a chance to pull off a daring heist."
He added:
"Unfortunately, this building has tight security. But there’s a weakness in the system. There are no alarms on the balconies or the stairwells that lead to the roof. Sean, Melissa the success of this mission largely rests on your shoulders."
Both of them were supposed to rappel down on opposite sides of the 38-story building to identify the target apartment. The red chair kept on the balcony was the sign.
Sean and Melissa had to break in and let their team members inside the apartment. Then, they were supposed to find and unlock the safe and escape with the jewels in time.
Two successful heists will result in $20,000 added to the prize pot. Sean spotted the red chair first, while Melissa took some time. It was on the fourth floor.
Team Sean punched the safe code wrong all three times. Team Melissa managed to open the safe, but they spent $5000 on the envelope for the clue, which they had already figured out on their own. The pot prize reached $15,000, with an additional $5000 from Melissa’s team.
Next elimination challenge of episode 3
Participants went to have lunch, where they saw Ari sitting at the table. Next up was one more challenge, followed by the elimination challenge. Fortune cookies were spread across the table, one for each participant. Ari explained to the players:
"Five cookies contain cash for the pot, and five contain exemptions. It’s a simple game of truth and lies. Vote correctly as a team, and you could more than triple your pot with another $50,000."
They broke their fortune cookies. Deanna, Melissa, Q, and Michael said they received $5,000 each; however, only two cookies had $5,000, meaning two were bluffing.
On the other hand, Neesh, Sean, Hannah, and Muna claimed their cookie had $10,000, but only two were telling the truth. Ryan said her cookie had $20,000, while Tony claimed the same.
The third episode ended with Tony sharing the confessional:
"I look like a fool. I lost my trust. We are gonna lose money, and it’s gonna be my fault. This is not good."
