Viewers are left wondering whether Melissa was a threat to others or if her elimination was due to the players' suspicions about her behavior.

In season 2 episode 4, cast members Tony and Ryan claimed to have the $20,000 fortune cookie. Both tried to convince others to trust and vote for them, as it would be to their benefit in the long run. However, Ryan had the exemption, and she was lying, the majority of the votes were toward Ryan.

Deanna was suspicious of Ryan and that she could be the mole. Meanwhile, Sean, Hannah, Neesh, and Muna claimed to have $10,000 fortune cookies each. Muna and Sean were the ones who had the exemption, and the majority votes were right.

Later, Deanna, Melissa, and Q are the remaining constants. As the majority of the votes were against Melissa, she was voted out. During her confessional interview, Melissa admitted to having the exemption, she said that she was good at hiding her truth as she is a poker player, so she knows how to play strategically in the game while lying. Melissa stated:

"I have the exemption. I have a poker background. I'm a competitive player in my real life. I'm really good at keeping my cards close to my chest."

After it was revealed that Melissa indeed had the exemption, many players got suspicious of her convincing skills and how she was carefully manipulating everyone in the game. This led to her elimination, but unfortunately, she wasn't the mole, but just a clever player.

Before exiting the game, Melissa expressed her thoughts on the competition:

"Not only is Mole doing a good job but there are players here that are doing incredible jobs of throwing people off track. I'm obviously, disappointed you know, I followed my gut, so I wouldn't take that back. But I cannot wait to see how this plays out."

To see who gets eliminated next, stream The Mole season 2 exclusively on Netflix. Episode 5 reveals another contestant who got sent home in this game of strategy and manipulation. Let's see if the players will be able to figure out who the mole is.
