Netflix's The Mole dropped the first five episodes of season 2 this week. The competitive reality show showcased a brand new cast consisting of people from different walks of life as they competed, strategized, and deceived to become the second-ever winner of the reality show.

The show started with 12 contestants, and as the show progressed, several players' journeys came to an end, including the 24-year-old VIP host, Antonio “Tony” Castellanos, who was eliminated in episode 5.

The cast member had a strong alliance with Hannah Burns, as the two developed a romantic partnership while on the show. Tony felt that they were on the same page, even with the answers to the quiz, and was certain that since the female cast member was safe, so was he.

"Hannah's screen just went green. Me and her are obviously, like, talking. We kind of see eye to eye on who we think it is. So I'm confident," Tony said before his light turned red.

"I got blindsided" — Antonio “Tony” Castellanos chimes in on The Mole season 2 elimination

Antonio “Tony” Castellanos was certain he wasn't going to go home in The Mole season 2 episode 5. Ahead of his phone turning red and announcing his elimination, he told the cameras he and Hannah Burns were "one step closer" to his victory. However, that was not the case.

While exiting the show, Tony told the cameras:

"Just...Just lost for words. I got blindsided. It's kind of irritating me that Hannah kind of has the same suspects. We played, you know, as a team, and she's come to me with a lot of information, and I think that might be my downfall, right? Because there is no trust."
"When you're in the game, you never know what anyone's true intentions are, no matter what they tell you. Is Hannah the mole? Could be," he added.

After Tony left The Mole season 2, Hannah left the table in tears, and Michael followed her to comfort the contestant. He told her to breathe as she hugged him and cried. The female cast member told Michael she felt bad, and the latter reminded her she didn't need to.

Hannah told him it felt like she sent her friend home, and Michael reminded her that it was a competition. He assured her that at the end of the day, Tony put down his own answers for the quiz and that his elimination wasn't her fault. Hannah later told the cameras that she felt "really, really guilty" and said that it felt like she betrayed someone she cared about.

"But to succeed in this game, you have to be emotionless and take that out of it or you're not gonna make it. We need to work together in the missions against the Mole, but when you're taking the quiz, when you're feeding each other information, nobody's telling the truth, and you really can't trust anybody but yourself," she added.

Although Michael may not have blamed Hannah for Tony's elimination, Neesh was certain that the female cast member played a huge part in the process and was wary of her actions.

The Mole season 2 cast member told the cameras that Hannah was "one of the biggest reasons Tony" was gone. He said the marketing consultant played a part in "manipulating him."

Talking about her gameplay, Neesh said she wasn't a "good team player" and noted she hadn't contributed much to the missions. He added that he was unsure if she was the mole or just someone trying to act suspicious.

By the end of episode 5, the prize fund stood at zero dollars after an auction that wiped out everything The Mole season 2 contestants worked hard for. Still in the running to win the reality show are Deanna Thompson, Hannah Burns, Michael O'Brien, Muna Abdulahi, Neesh Riaz, Ryan Warner, Sean, and Quaylyn Carter.

Tune in next week on Friday, July 5, 2024, to watch the next batch of episodes on Netflix.
